Suggested Future Investigations • A more comprehensive analysis of the response of biota to curly-leaf proliferation. • Controlled studies in well-defined sites (e.g. mesocosm studies) could allow for improved understanding of curly-leaf response to snow cover • The correlation of curly-leaf cover to water quality varies among lakes. The sentinel lakes may provide a good opportunity to better quantify and model the impact of curly-leaf senescence on lake water quality – take advantage of our free data!!
