My Insurance With God
I have insurance with Jesus; I know that it’s marked paid.
For Jesus is the premium, and He His own life gave.
I took out an insurance for heaven; the best that could be found.
Now I have an insurance with Jesus, and for heaven I am bound.
I have an insurance with Jesus that won’t lapse or fail to seed;
For the premiums are paid daily, by my actions and my deeds.
The Board of Directors are Angels, and the President is God.
Jesus Christ is my Collector; all He wants is the pure heart.
My life is insured by Jesus; my all promise to give.
I promise to live a Christian, to love, forget and forgive.
In turn, Jesus gave me insurance; Salvation was my benefit.
And now I have the assurance, somewhere around the throne I’ll sit.
When my life is ended, weep not, just let it be said;
I’ve cashed my insurance for heaven, by divine hands now I’m led.
My way lies onward and upward, to heights above the skies.
My insurance with Jesus will carry me safely o’er the roaring tide.
Postlude
And Those
Who Love Me
When I am gone,
release me, let me go.
I have so many things
to see and do,
You mustn’t tie yourself
to me with tears,
Be happy that we had
for so many years.
I gave you all my love,
you can only guess,
How much you gave me
in happiness.
I thank you for the love
each of you have shown.
But now it’s time
that I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me,
if grieve you must,
Then let your grief
be comforted by trust.
It’s only for awhile
that we must part,
So keep the memories
within your heart.
I won’t be far away,
for life goes on,
So if you need me,
call and I will come.
Though you cannot
see or touch me,
I’ll be near, and if you listen
with your heart, you’ll hear.
All of my love around you,
soft and clear
And then, when you must
come this way alone ...
I’ll greet you
with a smile and say–
“Welcome Home.”
