<strong>Boone</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Crockett</strong> <strong>Club</strong> member Charles Sheldon had influential friends in Washington D.C.<br />
<strong>and</strong> was able to move a bill through Congress to create a new Alaskan national park now known as<br />
Denali National Park, with Mount McKinley as its centerpiece. Sheldon personally delivered that<br />
bill for signing to President Woodrow Wilson on February 26, 1917. Sheldon later would become<br />
known as “the father of Denali National Park.” Mount McKinley is the highest mountain peak in<br />
