National Legal Aid <strong>and</strong> Defender Organization. Each of these partners maintains their own<br />

websites which include materials beyond those found at www.defendingimmigrants.org.<br />

The Immigration Advocates’ Network (IAN) is a collaboration of <strong>immigration</strong> non-profits<br />

throughout the country whose goal is to provide on-line <strong>immigration</strong> resources to pro bono<br />

<strong>immigration</strong> practitioners. The Immigrant Legal Resource Center heads the Immigration <strong>and</strong><br />

Crimes resource library, which provides resources such as overviews, practitioner guides, <strong>and</strong><br />

sample pleadings <strong>for</strong> those representing noncitizens with criminal records, as well as copies of<br />

the state <strong>and</strong> federal <strong>chart</strong>s on <strong>immigration</strong> consequences. This library is appropriate <strong>for</strong><br />

defenders looking <strong>for</strong> more in-depth resources on the <strong>immigration</strong> consequences of crimes. Go<br />

The website of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center offers material on a range of <strong>immigration</strong><br />

issues, including a free downloadable manual on <strong>immigration</strong> law affecting children in<br />

delinquency, dependency <strong>and</strong> family court, <strong>and</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation about <strong>immigration</strong> applications <strong>for</strong><br />

persons abused by U.S. citizen parent or spouse under the Violence Against Women Act<br />

The National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild offers practice guides <strong>and</strong><br />

updates on various issues that can affect criminal defendants <strong>and</strong> other general <strong>immigration</strong><br />

issues. The Project provides in<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>and</strong> a brief bank on <strong>immigration</strong> <strong>and</strong> criminal issues,<br />

on VAWA applications <strong>for</strong> persons abused by citizen or permanent resident spouse or parent,<br />
