Eighty percent of Haitians are Catholic.) According to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the massive earthquake claimed hundreds and perhaps thousands of casualties, and thousands more are feared dead or injured. The Archbishop of Port Au Prince was among the dead. The Diocese of Fresno and Catholic Charities, Diocese of Fresno (the local CRS affiliate) are collecting funds for disaster relief. Those wishing to make an online donation should be directed to the following Catholic Relief Services website: www.crs.org. More information on how to donate can be found at the diocesan website: www.dioceseoffresno.org. Individual donations by check (but not cash) may be made out to the “Diocese of Fresno.” The memo line on the check should read: “Haiti Earthquake.” Mail the check to: Diocese of Fresno Accounting Department 1550 N.
