"That was a nice puzzle!" said Alice, after she solved it. "Only one
thing I'd like to know: Why was the prisoner sent to gaol?"
"He stole some tarts from the King," the Mock Turtle replied.
The Gryphon looked extremely uncomfortable at this point, and
started scratching himself furiously!
"Come on, tell us a better one!" roared the Gryphon, "and make
it about something completely different!"
HOW LONG TO GET OUT? "Well, there's the one about the
frog who fell into a well," began the Mock Turtle.
"Aw, come on! That puzzle has whiskers on it," said the Gryphon.
"Don't you know any new ones?"
"I haven't heard that one," remarked Alice.
"All right, I'll tell you what you does," said the Gryphon, with a
yawn, "you tells this here puzzle to the lady who ain't heard it, and
