Moment of Silence
In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 71, Section 1A, B.H.S. will
observe an announced moment of silence each day during homeroom period. This time
can be used for meditation or prayer and no other activity will take place during this time.
Off Limits Areas
Students are not allowed to leave the building for any reason without written permission
from the House Office.
During class time, a student found anywhere in the building without an appropriate pass
from a staff member is considered to be off limits.
Students are asked to respect the neighbors of Braintree High School. Students are not
allowed to gather on a neighbor's property or congregate on neighboring streets.
Students are not to congregate on Town Street at the corner of the entry road to BHS.
Also, there is no smoking on school property and this corner is considered school
property and off limits.
Pledge of Allegiance
In accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 71, Section 69, Braintree
High School will display a flag in every classroom and all students will be asked to stand
and “Pledge Allegiance to the Flag” every morning during homeroom period.
Residency Policy
In order to attend Braintree High School, the student must be a resident of Braintree. If
a student is not living with a parent or guardian in Braintree, he/she must produce a
document in addition to his/her academic, discipline, and health records prior to enrolling
at Braintree High School. The student must provide the school with a notarized letter
from the adult with whom he/she plans to reside, which includes the following
information.
1. The name, address, and phone numbers (home, work, and emergency) of
the adult.
2. The length of time that the student is expected to live at the Braintree
address.
3. The reason(s) for the change of residence.
School Security
Braintree High School is equipped with a visitor’s reception booth, surveillance cameras,
and security guards to ensure the safety of students and staff. It is expected that all
students, staff, and visitors will cooperate and comply with all security personnel
requests or directives.
