Dances/Activities
Braintree High School activities are for Braintree High School students only, except for
the Junior Prom, the Senior Prom, and the Homecoming Dance. Students planning on
attending a scheduled dance and/or event are required to sign an Events Contract (see
below) and have their parents sign it before purchasing a ticket. Permission to bring a
non-Braintree High School Student to the Junior Prom, Senior Prom, or the
Homecoming Dance must be approved by the student’s respective housemaster. A
special contract must be completed and signed by both the student and his/her guest
before the housemaster approves.
No Tickets will be sold at the Event!
Students must arrive to a dance or activity within 30 minutes of the posted start time.
The only exception will be to have the late arrival approved by the activity coordinator or
a school administrator prior to the dance. No student may leave and re-enter any
dance. The alcohol detection device is available and will be used, if necessary, at
school dances and other school activities.

BRAINTREE HIGH SCHOOL
ACTIVITY CONTRACT
I agree to abide by the Memorandum of Understanding, which is in the 2006-2007
Parent/Student Handbook, entered into by the Braintree School Department, the Braintree Police
Department, and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
This memorandum provides for consequences for use and/or possession of drugs or
alcohol during a school sponsored function. These consequences include the following:
-Suspension or expulsion from school
-Loss of privilege to participate in any extracurricular school activities for a
period of four weeks.
In addition to the Memorandum of Understanding, and in an effort to provide a safe and positive
environment during school-sponsored events including proms and dances, evening social events
and/or performances, I further agree to the following terms:
-I will not consume or be in possession of alcoholic beverages prior to or during
a school-sponsored function that I attend.
-I will not ingest or be in possession of an illegal drug prior to or during a
school-sponsored function that I attend.
-Students exhibiting signs of alcohol consumption will be required to take a test
using an alcohol detection device.
I realize and agree that any infraction of the rules listed above will result in my exclusion
from any future school-sponsored events, including proms and dances, evening social
events and/or performances for the duration of my career at Braintree High School. This
also includes exclusion from graduation.
