Peer Mediation
If a student at BHS is having a conflict with another student, peer mediation is a
process that might help to resolve the conflict quickly and peacefully. Mediation
is a way of helping students to solve conflicts by talking to each other. The
mediation session is facilitated by BHS students who have been trained to
listen to those in conflict and help them to resolve their problem. A guidance
counselor, teacher or Housemaster may refer a student for Peer Mediation. In
addition, any student who is interested in arranging a mediation session on
their own should contact Dr. Clark or their guidance counselor.
New Peer Mediators are trained every other year on the recommendation of
their guidance counselor or Housemaster.
Tutoring
• Those students desiring student tutors during
school hours or after school should contact their
guidance counselor. At that time, a request will be
made for a National Honor Society student tutor.
• For additional tutoring services, including private tutoring, contact the
respective department directors.
