School Hours
The high school office is open daily from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Administrators can usually be reached until 5:00 P.M.
House System
The high school is organized on a modified house plan. This is accomplished by organizing
the student body and faculty into three units. The plan, utilizing a Housemaster, secretary,
guidance counselors, homeroom teachers and assistant homeroom teachers, provides for
student identity on a continuing basis. The homeroom teachers, assistant homeroom
teachers, and subject teachers work closely with the Housemaster and the guidance
counselors for the growth, development and success of the individual.

The Headmaster is responsible for every aspect of administering the high school.

The Housemasters direct and coordinate all activities within their respective houses and are
responsible to the Headmaster for the general administration of the entire school.
No School/Delayed Openings Announcements
Announcements of no school and/or delayed school openings due to inclement weather will
be made on Boston TV stations, Channels 4, 5 and 7, and radio stations WBZ, WHDH and
WJDA between 6:00 and 7:30 A.M. When delayed school openings occur, everyone should
know that all classes will meet for shortened periods of time.
Connect-Ed
Connect-Ed, a computerized telephone message system, is used to expand communication
between BHS and parents. Through Connect-Ed, parents are notified of a school closing
because of inclement weather, as well as meetings and other important information. In the
case of BHS closing or having a delayed start because of bad weather, parents and
students will receive a telephone call early in the morning or, in some cases, the night
before.
