Small Group Tutoring
Reading – Writing – Math
This is a convenient tutoring opportunity in a school setting. This course will
be designed around the needs of the participants. Students will have fun while
practicing their skills. There will be a maximum of 6 students per group.
Students may sign up for 2 or 3 week sessions rather than the full 5 weeks.
Two Sessions
Session 1) July 1 – July 19 (13 days) $135.00 (non-residents $145.00)
Session 2) July 22 –August 2 (10 days) $110.00 (non-residents $120.00)
Preschool Program
The preschool program is open to three, four and five year olds. It is designed
to promote socialization and learning readiness skills in young children.
Activities include arts and crafts, singing, finger play, story hour, and group
interaction. All children must be toilet trained.
The preschool hours will be 8:45 am until 11:45 am. Children may attend for
two, three or five days per week.

Pre-K Program
Get ready for Kindergarten! This pre-kindergarten program will prepare
your incoming kindergartener for their 2013-2014 kindergarten year. This
program focuses on the necessary literacy and math skills to help your child
become successful in kindergarten. Children are exposed to literature
through means of books, big books, poems, rhymes, and songs. They will
participate in various hands-on math activities. This program runs Monday
to Friday from 8:45 am -11:45 am. Kindergarten here we come!

ACTIVITIES
Art (gr.K-2)(gr.3-6)
will provide
opportunities to use a
variety of media and
techniques in creative
expression. Is art
class your favorite part

gives you art class

Cartooning (gr.3-6)
will give students
techniques to create
their own characters
and comic strips. Do
you have an idea for a
cartoon character?
Water Color Magic
(gr.2 -6) will offer
students the chance to
try out a variety of
techniques with
various materials to
produce great results.
Ready, Set, Listen and
Puppetry!
(gr. K-2) is an
enjoyable, structured
program to help
develop and
strengthen auditory
memory skill areas.
Also gives young
children the
opportunity to create
puppets to dramatize
stories. Puppets will
be created from oak
tag, paper plates, and
old socks. It’s a fun
way to learn about
books!
Games, Games and
More Games! (gr.1-6)
Does your child love
playing board games?
In this course, students
will learn strategy and
tactics as they play
Battleship,
Backgammon,
Cribbage and other
traditional games.
They will also design,
make and play their
own board game.
COOKING
Cooking (gr.2-6) gives
students food
preparation
experiences. Children
will make a different
item every day – each
recipe will not require
baking! They will
enjoy eating what they
prepare and learn
important math
concepts as well.
There is a $35.00
ingredients fee,
which will be
collected at the first
class for each
cooking course.
Please do not include
in your tuition
payment.
Cooking Up the
Alphabet (gr. K-1)
gives a simpler
cooking experience to
younger students
while reinforcing math
and reading concepts.
The daily cooking
project is connected to
an alphabet letter and
sound. Making the
recipe builds students’
measuring and
counting ability.
There is a $35.00
ingredients fee,
which will be
collected at the first
class for each
cooking course.

COMPUTER
Computer Lab
(gr. K-6) Have fun
surfing the web,
playing educational
games, or refreshing
your keyboarding
and computer skills.
Digital Photography
(gr.3-6) Learn how to
take pictures using a
digital camera. You
will process
impressive slide
shows. It’s one of the
most creative classes
ever to come out of an
elementary school! A
digital camera is not
required, but you may
bring your own if so
desired.
Garageband (gr.3 -6)
This is a class you’ll
just have to hear to
believe! Garageband
contains spectacular
sounding instruments
for students to create
any type of music
from hip-hop to rock
to symphony. You
don’t even have to
read music or know
how to play an
instrument to have a
complete blast. If you
like music, you’ll love
having your own
Garageband!
SPORTS
Mini Sports Camp
(gr.3-6) involves
students in game play
while teaching rules
and skills in team
sports. Team building
and leadership skills
will be stressed.
Open Gym (gr. K-3)
makes every day “gym
day”! Students will
participate in
organized physical
education activities to
develop physical
fitness skills.
Activities will be
conducted outdoors.
Karate (gr.K -6) will
be teaching simple
techniques to develop
confidence. The
martial arts are a great
way to develop fitness,
and self- confidence,
as well as self-defense
skills.
Basketball--- (gr. 3-
6)—Enjoy an hour of
basketball games and
scrimmages.
Instruction included!
Fenway (gr. 1-6)
Fenway is baseball
using a tennis ball and
tennis racquet. No
experience necessary.
Inside Sports (gr. 2-6)
Try your luck at cups,
egg roll, and many of
the games seen on
NBC’s Minute to Win
It.
Music and Movement
(gr. 2-6)
Let the rhythm move
you! Have fun in an
aerobic workout as we
explore a variety of
dance styles such as
Zumba, Hip Hop and
Jazz.
Cheerleading (gr.K -
6)
Skills will be taught
in an exciting, fun and
safe environment.
Cheers, chants, jumps,
stunts, tumbling,
pyramids, dancing and
team spirit will be part
of this fun class.
Outdoor Sports (gr.
K-3) Capture the flag,
kickball, ultimate
Frisbee football and
Frisbee golf are some
of the activities. Come
join the fun!

Yoga for Kids (K-3)
Fun, easy-to-learn
yoga routines.
Children will
experience improved
posture, flexibility,
strength, balance and
coordination. We’ll
learn to express
energy in a positive
way while learning to
relax and focus. Bring
a yoga mat and water.
LANGUAGE
English Language
Learners (ELL)
(gr. K-6)
Students who are
learning English as an
additional language
will participate in
activities to promote
English reading,
writing, listening and
speaking skills.
Lessons will focus on
building academic
vocabulary, grammar,
and oral proficiency.

Reptile Mania (gr. K-
3) Nature lovers will
love this course! They

gregarious geckos,
lovable lizards,
stupendous skunks and
other rambunctious
reptiles.
Classy Animals
(gr. K-2) Have you
ever wondered what
makes a reptile a
reptile? In Classy
Animals we will
explore a different
animal classification
each week and
complete at least one
art project weekly.
Magic School Bus
Adventures (gr.1-3)
Ever had a teacher like

Under the Sea (gr.1-
3) Jump aboard as we
set sail through the
ocean and learn about
the sea creatures
below. Through the
use of literature and
fun crafts, students
will learn about many
different sea animals.
Secret Gardening (gr.
K-6)
Learn all the secrets to
growing some
fascinating plants!
Students will mix
science and fun as
they learn about
plants, their life cycles
and habitats.
Activities will include
creating strange plant
creatures, growing
your own miniature
garden, composting
with worms and
learning about meateating
plants. Prepare
to get dirty with a total
sensory experience.

World Wanderer
(gr. 2-6) Get your
suitcase packed,
passport ready and
let’s set sail for a
journey around the
world. We will take a
virtual tour of 5
different countries.
We will visit historical
sites and learn about
the languages and
people of each
country.
SPARK Mystery Club
(gr. 3-6) Help us solve
a series of mysterious
happenings in the
SPARK summer
school. Sharpen your
detective skills as you
uncover fingerprint
clues, track the suspect
and solve the case!
Enjoy mystery stories,
puzzles and games
along the way! An
exciting way to solve
with reading, math and
science skills!

MINI – COURSES
The following courses will be offered as part of the summer school program. These courses will
not follow the same 5 week schedule. Check out the individual courses for specific dates and
times.
Drama Workshop (gr. 1-6) Gym
Students will learn what goes into the production of live theater such as High School Musical and
the classics with a twist, maybe Cinderella Goes Disco. This will include acting, singing,
dancing, set designing and costume making. It will culminate in a live performance for parents
and guests. This will be a three hour course. It will be offered in two sessions. You may choose
either session or both sessions.

Science Beyond the Classroom (gr. 3-6)
Learn about flight while you build a rocket and prepare for launch. Bring magnetism to w whole
new level as we design an object that floats on air. Send secret messages to a friend with a
combination of electricity and magnetism. Join us as we expand classroom science with fun,
project-based activities. Different activities each week, so you can enroll for the full 5 weeks!

Will you be the next “Jam-bassador”? You’ll find out when you try the new and exciting game of
KanJam! Learn fun, new games and skills. Featuring KanJam, ladder ball Frisbee golf and many
more. Let the games begin!

Grade 5 Summer Reading Fun!
Calling all students entering sixth grade!. Do you think you might put off your summer reading
until the last minute? Then this class is for you. Consider signing up of one or both sessions of
this course. We will start by reading Crash together and discuss the entertaining lives of “Crash”
Coogan and Penn Webb. The second session of the course we will read a second required book
together. By the end, your summer reading will be completed and the rest of the summer will be
yours to enjoy!

Claypot Crafts for Kids (gr. 2-6)
Learn how to transform ordinary clay pots into unique works of art.

There is a $10 materials fee for each week which is payable at the beginning of each week. (not to
