Small Group Tutoring<br />

Reading – Writing – Math<br />

This is a convenient tutoring opportunity in a school setting. This course will<br />

be designed around the needs of the participants. Students will have fun while<br />

practicing their skills. There will be a maximum of 6 students per group.<br />

Students may sign up for 2 or 3 week sessions rather than the full 5 weeks.<br />

Two Sessions<br />

Session 1) July 1 – July 19 (13 days) $135.00 (non-residents $145.00)<br />

Session 2) July 22 –August 2 (10 days) $110.00 (non-residents $120.00)<br />

Preschool Program<br />

The preschool program is open to three, four and five year olds. It is designed<br />

to promote socialization and learning readiness skills in young children.<br />

Activities include arts and crafts, singing, finger play, story hour, and group<br />

interaction. All children must be toilet trained.<br />

The preschool hours will be 8:45 am until 11:45 am. Children may attend for<br />

two, three or five days per week.<br />

Pre-K Program<br />

Get ready for Kindergarten! This pre-kindergarten program will prepare<br />

your incoming kindergartener for their 2013-2014 kindergarten year. This<br />

program focuses on the necessary literacy and math skills to help your child<br />

become successful in kindergarten. Children are exposed to literature<br />

through means of books, big books, poems, rhymes, and songs. They will<br />

participate in various hands-on math activities. This program runs Monday<br />

to Friday from 8:45 am -11:45 am. Kindergarten here we come!<br />

enjoyable, structured<br />

program to help<br />

develop and<br />

strengthen auditory<br />

memory skill areas.<br />

Also gives young<br />

children the<br />

opportunity to create<br />

puppets to dramatize<br />

stories. Puppets will<br />

be created from oak<br />

tag, paper plates, and<br />

old socks. It’s a fun<br />

way to learn about<br />

concepts as well.<br />

Cooking Up the<br />

Alphabet (gr. K-1)<br />

gives a simpler<br />

cooking experience to<br />

sound. Making the<br />

recipe builds students’<br />

measuring and<br />

SPORTS<br />

Mini Sports Camp<br />

(gr.3-6) involves<br />

students in game play<br />

while teaching rules<br />

and skills in team<br />

sports. Team building<br />

and leadership skills<br />

Open Gym (gr. K-3)<br />

makes every day “gym<br />

day”! Students will<br />

participate in<br />

organized physical<br />

education activities to<br />

MINI – COURSES<br />

The following courses will be offered as part of the summer school program. These courses will<br />

not follow the same 5 week schedule. Check out the individual courses for specific dates and<br />

times.<br />

Drama Workshop (gr. 1-6) Gym<br />

Students will learn what goes into the production of live theater such as High School Musical and<br />

the classics with a twist, maybe Cinderella Goes Disco. This will include acting, singing,<br />

dancing, set designing and costume making. It will culminate in a live performance for parents<br />

and guests. This will be a three hour course. It will be offered in two sessions. You may choose<br />

either session or both sessions.<br />

Science Beyond the Classroom (gr. 3-6)<br />

Learn about flight while you build a rocket and prepare for launch. Bring magnetism to w whole<br />

combination of electricity and magnetism. Join us as we expand classroom science with fun,<br />

project-based activities. Different activities each week, so you can enroll for the full 5 weeks!<br />

Grade 5 Summer Reading Fun!<br />

Calling all students entering sixth grade!. Do you think you might put off your summer reading<br />

until the last minute? Then this class is for you. Consider signing up of one or both sessions of<br />

this course. We will start by reading Crash together and discuss the entertaining lives of “Crash”<br />

Coogan and Penn Webb. The second session of the course we will read a second required book<br />

together. By the end, your summer reading will be completed and the rest of the summer will be<br />

yours to enjoy!<br />
