4.9.2.5. Service 5: freeze/unfreeze DP slave inputs This service allows you to read and freeze or unfreeze the input states of specific DP slaves, groups (multicast) or all of the DP slaves in the network (broadcast). The Freeze service causes the DP slave to freeze the input values that were read last. Changes of the input states are no longer registered. This procedure can be repeated any number of times. The current input values are read and frozen every time this service is called for. The Unfreeze service has the opposite effect: inputs values are cyclically read and the process image is updated as usual. 4.9.2.6. Service 6: synchronise DP slave outputs PC Control 645-12M on PROFIBUS This service allows you to synchronise the output values, as transferred by cyclic data frames, of specific DP slaves, entire groups (multicast) or all DP slaves in the network (broadcast). A Sync command puts the DP slave into Sync mode. The output data sent by the DP master are buffered in the DP slave and not forwarded to the outputs. With the next Sync command, the buffered values are forwarded to the outputs. The Unsync service cancels the Sync mode and causes the output states to be updated cyclically as usual. PC Control 645-12M on PROFIBUS
This service allows you to synchronise the output values,
as transferred by cyclic data frames, of specific DP slaves,
entire groups (multicast) or all DP slaves in the network
(broadcast).
A Sync command puts the DP slave into Sync mode. The
output data sent by the DP master are buffered in the DP
slave and not forwarded to the outputs.
With the next Sync command, the buffered values are forwarded
to the outputs.
The Unsync service cancels the Sync mode and causes the
output states to be updated cyclically as usual.
