Coding switch 3.4. Coding switch The 6-pin coding switch (see ch. "3.1. Design", DIP switch) has several settings: 3.4.1. Addressing the (ISA-)PC interface The ISA interface enables PC Control 645-12M to communicate with the PC. For this purpose, PC Control 645-12M is equipped with a 16 kbyte dual-port RAM. The PC addresses the dual-port RAM via the memory range. Use switches SW1...3 to define the starting address of this range: SW1 SW2 SW3 off on off on off on off on off off on on off off on on DOS and Win 1) A ddress range 3.x Win 95 and Win NT off 0xC800 - 0xCBFF 0xC8000 - 0xCBFFF off 0xCC00 - 0xCFFF 0xCC000 - 0xCFFFF off 0xD000 - 0xD3FF 0xD0000 - 0xD3FFF off 0xD400 - 0xD7FF 0xD4000 - 0xD7FFF on 0xD800 - 0xDBFF 0xD8000 - 0xDBFFF on 0xDC00 - 0xDFFF 0xDC000 - 0xDFFFF on 0xE000 - 0xE3FF 0xE0000 - 0xE3FFF on 0xE400 - 0xE7FF 0xE4000 - 0xE7FFF Factory setting: SW1=off, SW2=off, SW3=off this represents address range 0xC8000 - 0xCBFFF see "3.8.2. How to avoid address conflicts" 1) The address ranges for DOS and Windows 3.x are given in segments. The address therefore has one digit less than the addresses for Windows 95 and Windows NT. 3 - 4
Hardware 3.4.2. Setting the reset trigger (SW4) A reset has the following effects -- the program is stopped -- communication via PROFIBUS, V.24 and ISA interfaces is interrupted -- all non-remanent markers (in PLC operation) are reset (value "0") Switch SW4 decides what triggers the reset. Reset triggered if SW4=off (default): -- Push Reset button on PC Control 645-12M -- Switch on external supply (24 V DC) if the device is not supplied internally via the PC -- Start PC if there is no external supply Reset triggered if SW4=on: -- Push Reset button on PC Control 645-12M -- Switch on external supply (24 V DC) if the device is not supplied internally via the PC -- Start PC if there is no external supply -- Push PC's Reset button -- Switch PC supply on or off this resets the card even if it is externally supplied. A so-called warm boot of the PC by pressing ++ does not reset PC Control 645. 3 - 5

3.4.2. Setting the reset trigger (SW4)<br />
A reset has the following effects<br />
-- the program is stopped<br />
-- communication via PROFIBUS, V.24 and ISA interfaces is<br />
interrupted<br />
-- all non-remanent markers (in PLC operation) are reset<br />
(value "0")<br />
Switch SW4 decides what triggers the reset.<br />
Reset triggered if SW4=off (default):<br />
-- Push Reset button on <strong>PC</strong> <strong>Control</strong> <strong>645</strong>-<strong>12M</strong><br />
-- Switch on external supply (24 V DC) if the device is not<br />
supplied internally via the <strong>PC</strong><br />
-- Start <strong>PC</strong> if there is no external supply<br />
Reset triggered if SW4=on:<br />
-- Push Reset button on <strong>PC</strong> <strong>Control</strong> <strong>645</strong>-<strong>12M</strong><br />
-- Switch on external supply (24 V DC) if the device is not<br />
supplied internally via the <strong>PC</strong><br />
-- Start <strong>PC</strong> if there is no external supply<br />
-- Push <strong>PC</strong>'s Reset button<br />
-- Switch <strong>PC</strong> supply on or off<br />
this resets the card even if it is externally supplied.<br />
A so-called warm boot of the <strong>PC</strong> by pressing<br />
++ does not reset <strong>PC</strong> <strong>Control</strong> <strong>645</strong>.<br />
