I kursen ingår en obligatorisk och individuell uppsats om mikroelektronikens<br />

och informationsteknikens frontlinjer med anknytning till ett eller flera av<br />

seminarierna, där studenten själv väljer ämne. En litteratursökning ska ingå i<br />

uppsatsen. Betyg sätts på uppsatsen.<br />

Förkunskaper<br />

Grundkurseri digital och analog elektronik, vågrörelselära, elektromagnetisk<br />

fältteori fasta tillståndets fysik samt halvledarkomponenter rekommenderas.<br />

En kurs i Informationssökning rekommenderas, tex 9E1140 (kan med för<strong>del</strong><br />

läsas parallellt med denna kurs, det finns flera kursomgångar per år).<br />

Kursfordringar<br />

Aktivt <strong>del</strong>tagande i minst 10 av seminarierna (ANN1; 1p), skrivit individuell<br />

uppsats på engelska samt läst och kommenterat annan kurs<strong>del</strong>tagares uppsats<br />

(UPP1; 3p). Betyget sätts på den individuella uppsatsen, men alla uppgifter<br />

måste göras i tid.<br />

Reading requirements are set for each<br />

seminar. Participants may sign up for<br />

either the fall or spring semester, but the<br />

course may be finished any semester.<br />

Every semester is started with an<br />

introductory lecture with an overview of<br />

the area and administrative details for<br />

the course; this occasion may be counted<br />

for the attendance requirement.<br />

Voluntary study visits to research labs<br />

may be offered during the course.<br />

An individual essay on the frontiers of<br />

microelectronics and information<br />

technology, based on one or more of the<br />

seminars, is required. The student may<br />

pick the topic, but a literature search<br />

must be included. The essay determines<br />

the grade.<br />

Prerequisites<br />

Basic courses in digital and analog<br />

electronics, wave theory,<br />

electromagnetic field theory solid state<br />

physics and semiconductor device are<br />

recommended. A course in Information<br />

Searching is recommended, for instance<br />

9E1140 (may be taken in parallel with<br />

this course).<br />

Requirements<br />

Active participation in at least 10<br />

seminars (ANN1; 1p), written an<br />

individual essay in English and read and<br />

commented another course participant’s<br />

essay (UPP1; 3p). The individual essay<br />

determines the grade, but all<br />

requirements must be fulfilled on time.<br />
