4.2.1.5 AAAC Attendant
The AAAC attendant acts as AAAC client and is responsible for communication with AAAC server on
behalf of the MT. This includes all security specific functionalities like key handling and network access
procedures, i.e., it deals with registration and setup.
This module deals further with a metering module. For that purpose it has an interface with the Metering
module.
4.2.1.6 Metering
It deals with metering issues. It will be controlled by the AAAC attendant which will decide when start or
finish metering a particular user session. Metering is based on the output of the IETF Real Time Flow
Measurement working group with project specific enhancements.
4.2.1.7 QoS Manager
The QoS manager is responsible for QoS activities in the AR. It includes a Data Base with the DSCP
table. The Policy Enforcement Point PEP is responsible for policing issues. The policy information is sent
to the PEP by the QoS broker and the PEP stores it in the DSCP table. The QoS attendant receives QoS
context transfer initiation order from the fast handover module and contacts the PEP so that the QoS
infrastructure performs the QoS context transfer. Also the QoS attendant tells the FHO module of the
availability or not of QoS resources in the nAR during the FHO process.
4.2.1.8 Logger
The Logger consists of two parts:
• Integrated Logger which is integrated into AAAC Client and QoS Manager.
• Local Log Management
The AAAC Client’s Integrated Logger is responsible for generating Availability Event Logs and User
Registration Event Logs, while the QoS Manager’s Integrated Logger is responsible for generating
Availability Event Logs and Service Authorization Event Logs.
