4.1.2.6.1 Dormant state watchdog<br />
The dormant state watchdog block is responsible for taking the decision on when to enter the dormant<br />
mode. Basically, entering a dormant mode depends on the following parameters:<br />
• No session should be open.<br />
• No session should have been opened for some configurable amount of time.<br />
• All Binding Cache entries, maintained in remote Correspondent Nodes, should have been<br />
expired.<br />
To check the Binding Cache entries and respective timers indicating the individual entry’s validity, this<br />
block needs to communicate to the MIPv6 related binding cache block of the enhanced IPv6 protocol<br />
stack, which might be implemented as an option. Expiration of local binding cache entries can be a basic<br />
measure that no communication is active, hence, the binding of the mobile’s CoA hasn’t been updated on<br />
