Sport Utility Vehicle Use code '06' for Broncos, Blazers, Jeeps, Suburbans, Explorers etc.<br />
(enclosed vehicles that normally have a higher road clearance for off-road use).<br />
Recreational Vehicles Vehicle body type '07' includes personal use motorized campers,<br />
recreational vehicles, and buses or truck-trailer combinations converted into an RV; it does not<br />
include camping trailers that are towed or any RV configuration used commercial business (like a<br />
band).<br />
Farm Machinery Vehicles such as tractors, combines, sprayers, swath / windrower, etc. This<br />
would NOT include grain trucks, as they would be considered a body type of ‘10’-‘12’.<br />
All Terrain Vehicle – ATV Use code '09' only for all-terrain vehicles which are used mainly as<br />
recreation vehicles; include 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and dune buggies.<br />
LARGE / HEAVY <strong>VEHICLE</strong>S (GCVWR OVER 10,000 POUNDS):<br />
Single Heavy Truck (10) – having no trailer attached; can have<br />
3 or more axles or more than 6 tires. See “Vehicle Configuration”<br />
chart on the back of the 852 “Heavy Vehicle/Hazmat<br />
Supplement” form Codes ‘02’ and ‘03’. Single Truck includes<br />
buses converted into an RV with less than 9 seats and used for<br />
commercial business (not personal) and a bobtail semi.<br />
Truck and Trailer (11) A single –unit truck pulling a trailer. See<br />
“Vehicle Configuration” chart on the back of the 852 “Heavy<br />
Vehicle/Hazmat Supplement” form Code ‘04’. Truck and Trailer<br />
includes truck-trailer combinations converted into an RV and<br />
used for commercial business (not personal).<br />
Tractor-Trailer(s) (12) or Tractor/Semi Trailer consists of a truck tractor (bobtail; see Vehicle<br />
Configuration Code 05) and/or one or more attached trailers. See “Vehicle Configuration” chart on<br />
the back of the 852 “Heavy Vehicle/Hazmat Supplement” form Codes ‘06’, ‘07’, and ‘08’.<br />
Cross Country Bus (13) A large bus that has 16 or more seats, usually used for intrastate or<br />
interstate travel, such as a Greyhound Bus. See “Vehicle Configuration” chart on the back of the<br />
852 “Heavy Vehicle/Hazmat Supplement” form Code ‘01’.<br />
School Bus (14) A conveyance vehicle to normally transport passengers to and from K through<br />
12 school or a school associated function. Usually has 9 or more seats (including the driver). See<br />
“Vehicle Configuration” chart on the back of the 852 “Heavy Vehicle/Hazmat Supplement” form<br />
Code ‘00’ and ‘01’.<br />
Transit Bus (15) A bus that has 16 or more seats. Usually a “city” bus conveying passengers to<br />
various places in a larger city. See “Vehicle Configuration” chart on the back of the 852 “Heavy<br />
Vehicle/Hazmat Supplement” form Code ‘01’.<br />
Other Bus (16) A conveyance vehicle that has 9 or more seats (including the driver) that would<br />
not fit the other “bus” types. Other bus includes buses converted into an RV with more than 8<br />
seats and used for commercial business (not personal).<br />
