How to Play Noun Game in Montessori
Noun Game is a lesson game used in schools to introduce the
definition of noun to Montessori children’s. Children will learn
more if the activity interesting. Here are some instructions
about how to play noun game.

Sit in a circle:
Arrange all the students in a circle. Now start your game
spontaneously; For example, some teacher starts sharing
news to all students and suddenly starts the game.

Retrieve various items
Ask the children to bring various items. For example, ask one
of your students to bring some flowers and then ask the kid
next to him to bring eraser and so on and so forth. In this
exercise, you need to involve all the children and keep them
engaged.

Break off the sentence
Now ask all the students by breaking off the sentence like
bring me ________. Let the students guess what you actually
want. For example, one of your students brings flowers but
that was not what you asked for. So respond them by saying,
“No I don’t want flowers”.

Complete the sentence
If no one is guessing what you actually want, then tell
everyone what you have in your mind. For example, “Bring me
a book”. Repeat this part of the game repeatedly so children
start getting the concept of noun, because when you leave
the noun from the sentence, no one knows what you are
talking about.

Explain the Definition
Now explain the definition of noun at the end of the game
and explain to every student that without name no one is able
to bring the right thing and that a noun is a name of person,
place, animal or thing.
