As mobile broadband service packages are comparable with fixed broadband service packages,
the former are compared to the broadband connection products provided through the fixed
communications network.
By the end of 2011, the number of end users of the mobile broadband connection amounted to
143 thousand. The number of the mobile broadband connection consumers increased twofold
during the year, and the number of end-users was more than four times larger than the end users
of the services provided by means of the radio communications technology (WLL). Compared to
2010, the number of xDSL end-users decreased by 5%, and the number of cable modem endusers
decreased by 3%. At the same time, the number of mobile broadband connection end-users
increased by 12%.
Having decreased by 28% in 2008, the number of end-users of the broadband service provided
by means of WLL saw a decrease of 12% in 2011. The share of the end-users of the broadband
service on the basis of xDSL, cable modems and fibre optic cable amounted to 63% in 2011, and
the share of the users of services on the basis of the mobile broadband connection amounted to
29%.

As of the end of 2011, an estimated 55% of Estonian households were using the fixed broadband
service.
End-users of communication services use more and more bundled services (the broadband
service, the telephone service, the mobile telephone service), which is why bundled
communications services where at least two communications services can be used for a monthly
