As shown in illustration 1, the flange of the sprocket is turned outward. To guarantee proper operation of the Gates Carbon Drive System, both sprockets need to be exactly aligned with each other (illustrations 2 and 3). The belt alignment cannot be adjusted on the rear sprocket of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14. Therefore, you can only adjust it with the position of the front sprocket. The included shim rings have been designed to facilitate this adjustment. For some bottom brackets it is possible to adjust the alignment with shim rings (illustration 4). Please note the mounting instructions from the particular bottom bracket manufacturer.
