<strong>KNX</strong> Out & About<br />

Participants of the <strong>KNX</strong> National Group Conference<br />

<strong>KNX</strong> National Groups Meeting <strong>2011</strong> (Poland)<br />

For the first time, the Annual<br />

Conference of <strong>KNX</strong> National<br />

Groups was held together<br />

with the <strong>KNX</strong> General Assembly<br />

in February in Warsaw<br />

(Poland).<br />

This year were invited the<br />

<strong>KNX</strong> National Groups as<br />

well as <strong>KNX</strong> manufactur-<br />

ers and the <strong>KNX</strong> Executive<br />

Board. The two day event<br />

is organised and funded by<br />

<strong>KNX</strong> Association to bring<br />

together all the nations and<br />

this year 23 countries were<br />

in attendance.<br />

Each country gave a report<br />

on their current and fu-<br />

ture activities showing their<br />

own approaches and their<br />

achievements in recent years.<br />

Moreover, on this occasion a<br />

panel discussion about the<br />

agreements between several<br />

<strong>KNX</strong> National Groups and<br />

their respective National<br />

Associations of Electrical Installers<br />

were shown to the<br />

audience.<br />

Once again, it was demonstrated<br />

the strong worldwide<br />

<strong>KNX</strong> activity.<br />

The young <strong>KNX</strong> Generation at CYE2010 –<br />

European Competition of Young Installers<br />

CYE2010 was run by the European<br />

Association of Electrical<br />

Contractors (AIE) October<br />

26-29, 2010. The event was organised<br />

by FENIE, the Spanish<br />

Association of Electrical and<br />

IT installation enterprises, and<br />

powered once more by <strong>KNX</strong><br />

Association. On this occasion,<br />

seven nations in total competed<br />

at the 11th CYE2010.<br />

Many of the competitors<br />

commented that – winner or<br />

not - this was nevertheless a<br />

unique experience and a great<br />

opportunity to work with new<br />

unknown devices. The tasks<br />

for the competitors that are<br />

set in the international Competition<br />

of Young Electricians<br />

(CYE) were based once again<br />

on <strong>KNX</strong>. Congratulations to<br />

all participants: Markus Stöger<br />

(Austria, gold medal), Bernt<br />

Erlend Fridell (Norway, silver<br />

medal) and Arno Conradin<br />

(Switzerland, bronze medal)<br />

and also all the participants in<br />

the well deserved 4th place:<br />

Daniel Villa (Spain), Fabian<br />

Moser (Italy), Joel Miranda<br />

(Portugal) and Neil Frew (England/UK).<br />
