The increasing openness of building
automation systems can be greatly improved
by the use of “smart” algorithms
to operate these systems. Mobile devices
now have sensors that can be used for
implementation of context awareness and
location-based services. This is the focus
of research in mobile computing program
of the FH of Upper Austria. Furthermore,
KNX Partners
the technical basics of building automation
systems are conveyed as part of courses
and projects. The modern buildings, great
equipment, contacts with industry and a
dedicated team guarantee targeted studies
with excellent perspectives.

1st KNX Greece Event – Premiere of KNX Userclub Greece!
It’s a fact! The Greek KNX
Userclub was present at ELEC-
TROTEC 2010, which took
place in Athens October, 1 – 4,
2010.
Within the framework of the
biggest electrical products
and lighting fair in Greece, the
KNX Userclub organized the
KNX Launch event. This kickoff
celebration, which took place
on Saturday October 2, 2010
was planned in cooperation
with the Greek KNX National
Group and KNX Association
International.
During this event, KNX Userclub
presented the advantages
of being a member of a KNX
KNX Launch Event at Electrotec 2010
Greece
Userclub, its future activities
and encouraged all the Greek
KNX Partners to join. Moreover,
activities from other KNX
Userclubs in Europe were
presented to the audience for
a better understanding of the
Userclub role.

KNX Professionals Present the New ETS4 at GET Nord
Satisfaction and optimism
prevailed at the “GET Nord”,
the trade fair for electrics,
plumbing, heating and air
conditioning, which was held
November 17 – 19, 2010 at
the Hamburg Fair. As usual,
KNX was present among the
other 500 exhibitors. They all
presented their most current
products and novelties to
40,000 visitors. On this occasion,
KNX presented the new
ETS4 and the new features of
this state-of-the-art software.
Energy-efficient solutions and
applications for renewable
energy in the building services
were at the forefront.
The KNX Professionals Germany
took advantage of this
Germany
opportunity; together with the
North German Association
of Electrical and Information
Technology they presented
the new ETS4 as a workplace.
The interaction of institutions
and KNX professionals led to
great success at the Get Nord.
Thus, it will certainly not be the
last time KNX takes advantage
of such teamwork in the future
and at other regional shows.
