Green Future
Technologies pty. Ltd.
(Australia)
Due to good cooperation of the KNX
User Club Austria with KNX users in
Australia, where currently the use of
KNX-products is strongly increasing,
there was a strong desire for their
own training centre. The KNX users in
Australia used to make the huge effort
and a 22 hour flight to visit a European
KNX Partners
training centre. With the establishment of
the first Australian KNX training centre
Green Future Technologies now offers
certification courses and professional
courses to meet the requirements of the
growing KNX market.
Hager
KNX Training Center
(The Netherlands)
As one of the founders of KNX, Hager
has had experience with KNX for over
20 years. Hager has long emphasized the
need for well trained KNX installers
and was the first manufacturer in the
Netherlands to become a KNX Certified
Training Center. Hager offers a one day
training course for programming in KNX
Easy mode, as well as the official KNX
System mode training which on successful
completion will result in the official KNX
certificate. Besides these basic courses,
Hager also provides application courses
in order to acquire more knowledge and
experience with various functionalities in
either Easy or System mode. The KNX
Easy courses are a perfect way to start
your experience with home and building
automation; the KNX System courses are
meant for installers that deal with more
advanced, complex installations.
IUT de Nimes (France)
The department of “ Genie Electrique de
I’lnstitut Universitaire Technologique” of
Nimes has been training professionals and
students for a few years on new building
technologies. These technologies concern
the fields of energy control and renewable
energy production. The KNX training
naturally comes into play with the goal
of energy saving in buildings. The department
of “ Genie Electrique de I’lnstitut
Universitaire Technologique” of Nimes
offers both basic KNX training sessions
but also advanced sessions, and offers
training sessions to the industrialists in
that field for their customers on specific
products. They have a platform dedicated
to the study of the KNX technology. It
is based on seven well equipped workstations
and a pilot house of SSC type
(Satiment Sasse Consumption).
Lycée Louis ARMAND
(France)
Lycée
Mulhouse
Within the framework of electrical engineering
courses, Lycée Louis ARMAND
implemented KNX bus technology in
many projects. The first one, realized
during three years, consisted of the implementation
of a building management
system in a practical work classroom of
their school with a switching/dimming
device for controlling fluorescent lamps
through a Dali-KNX gateway. An educational
system, highlighting the equipment
working on KNX bus was utilized by the
teachers. This second project emphasizes
the use of the software ETS3. The third
project consisted of implementing the
lighting of the corridors in one building
of the school, which was modified to
make it completely managed by KNX. This
installation allows the use many functions.
Poznan University
of Technology (Poland)
The “KNX System and Energy Efficiency
Evaluation Laboratory” is located at
the Poznan University of Technology in
Poland. Its activities are focused on the
development of new control algorithms
that may lead to reduction of energy use
in buildings. These new algorithms are
designed to control HVAC, lights and
blinds. Apart from that, they are working
on the integration of electrical and
heating installations with security and
fire protection systems. The laboratory
is also equipped with data acquisition and
visualisation systems and a wide range
of the newest diagnostic devices such as
thermal imagers with IR-fusion technology,
DTX cable analyzers and more. The
laboratory is a place of meeting where
specialists and engineers can familiarize
themselves with the benefits of intelligent
building and KNX as the system of choice.
