KNX France participates to
IBS-Intelligent Building Systems 2010
KNX France was present in
the first edition of the show
IBS-Intelligent Building Systems
which was held on September
21 and 22, 2010 in Paris-La-
Défense (France). This show
welcomed an exposure area and
a program of 17 conferences
on the theme of intelligent
solutions for buildings performances.
KNX France took
part in several conferences and
for the first time, one of them
brought together the presidents
of main associations, as KNX,
Didier Giraud, President of KNX France, at the conference.

KNX Greece kick-off
KNX Hellas Association gave
the very step in the Metropolitan
Expo Center, Athens
(Greece) in the frame of ELEC-
TROtech 2010 Fair (1st-4th of
October). This trade show is
one of the most important exhibitions
in the field of electrical
and mechanical engineering in
the country. The basic features
of KNX technology were presented
by the representatives
of the National Group at the
KNX booth and also, in a parallel
conference, which took place
on Saturday the 2nd October,
Members of the National Group of Greece at the KNX booth.

Group showed to the more
than 150 attendees the key
objectives of the Association
and the forthcoming benefits
of a successful promotion of
the KNX Technology in the

Technical Colloquium with Many Guests
Interesting speeches and a
lively discussion turned KNX
Germany’s first technical colloquium
into a success. The
event was fully booked. On the
occasion of the 20tieth KNX
anniversary, about 80 partners,
representatives of German
KNX member companies and
speakers from industry, sciences
and architecture assembled in
Frankfurt. Harald Horst, vice
chairman of KNX welcomed the
guests in person, while Reiner
Brüderle, Federal Minister of
Economics and Technology and
the President of KNX, Godehardt
Schneider, spoke to the
participants in video messages.

lively discussions throughout

architect Dieter Ludwig’s lecture
evoked a controversial discussion:
His provoking theses concerning
the KNX standard from
an architect’s and planner’s point
of view surprised many system
integrators and KNX partners at
the event. The previous speaker,
Peter Knoll from the Biberach
University of Applied Sciences,
Germany
also obtained great attention. His
talk gave insight into the current
research concerning energy
efficiency with KNX. Inside the
university, several rooms with
different equipment are used to
research into the efficiency of
KNX installations. The study will
be completed next year and is
meant to deliver reliable figures
concerning energy savings with
KNX. KNX partners will be able
to use these figures as a basis in
consulting.
