Council has a non chemical policy for termite control but will consider proposals involving
physical barriers in combination with approved chemical systems. Handspraying is
prohibited.
Where a monolithic slab is used as part <strong>of</strong> a termite barrier system, the slab shall <strong>be</strong>
constructed in accordance with Australian Standard 2870.1 or as designed by a structural
engineer but in either case shall <strong>be</strong> vibrated <strong>to</strong> achieve maximum compaction.
To ensure compliance with this condition, a Compliance Certificate or documentary evidence
from a suitably qualified person is <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> submitted <strong>to</strong> the Principal Certifying Authority prior
<strong>to</strong> the issue <strong>of</strong> an Occupation Certificate.
