K<strong>at</strong>auskas C<strong>on</strong>sulting Engineers. This is <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> ensure th<strong>at</strong> vibr<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> cre<strong>at</strong>ed by the method <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> does not adversely impact surrounding property and infrastructure. A qualified<br />

and practising geotechnical engineer must prepare the Vibr<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> M<strong>on</strong>i<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ring Program and<br />

undertake all associ<strong>at</strong>ed investig<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong>s. Details <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> included in Vibr<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> M<strong>on</strong>i<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ring<br />

Program <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> include:<br />

a. pre-set acceptable limits for the vari<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>:<br />

i. settlement<br />

ii.<br />

iii<br />

deflecti<strong>on</strong> or movement <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> retaining mechanisms such as shoring and bracing and<br />

vibr<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> in accordance with AS 2187.2 1993 Appendix J, including acceptable<br />

velocity <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> vibr<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong>.<br />

b. the loc<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> and type <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> m<strong>on</strong>i<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ring systems <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> used<br />

c. Recommended hold points <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> allow for inspecti<strong>on</strong> and certific<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> by a geotechnical<br />

engineer and<br />

d. A c<strong>on</strong>tingency plan should the pre-set acceptable limits <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> exceeded.<br />

88 Prior <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> issue <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the C<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> Certific<strong>at</strong>e the applicant shall submit, for approval by the<br />

Principal Certifying Authority (PCA) (with a copy forwarded <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council) a full dilapid<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong><br />

report <strong>on</strong> the visible and structural c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> all buildings within the ‘z<strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> influence’<br />

defined as the horiz<strong>on</strong>tal distance from the edge <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the excav<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> twice the excav<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong><br />

depth. This requirement for a dilapid<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> report is specified in secti<strong>on</strong> 4.2 <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the DA<br />

submissi<strong>on</strong> “Report <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Mr Camer<strong>on</strong> Nels<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> Geotechnical Investig<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> for Proposed<br />

Residential Development <strong>at</strong> 1 <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> 5 Lynbarra avenue and 12 Porters Lane, St Ives NSW”<br />

c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> all structures originally assessed prior <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> issue <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the C<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> Certific<strong>at</strong>e,<br />

must <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> carried out <strong>at</strong> the completi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the works and <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> submitted <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council.<br />
