As such, it is considered that specifying a minimum proportion <strong>of</strong> the s<strong>to</strong>rmwater management that
must <strong>be</strong> by way <strong>of</strong> OSD. This will ensure that some protection is afforded <strong>to</strong> downstream
properties and that the integrity <strong>of</strong> the drainage system capacity as well as the impacts <strong>of</strong> increased
multi-unit development are appropriately managed. Specifically, the proposed amendments <strong>to</strong>
Chapter 6 are:
1. An update <strong>to</strong> Section 6.4 so as <strong>to</strong> properly reflect the current status <strong>of</strong> BASIX.
2. Introduction <strong>of</strong> a retention component <strong>of</strong> 5000 litres (garden irrigation minimum) for existing
dwellings retained in straightforward subdivision applications.
3. Introduction <strong>of</strong> manda<strong>to</strong>ry on-site detention for Types 4, 5 and 6 development with a minimum
site s<strong>to</strong>rage requirement (SSR) <strong>be</strong>ing 50% (for all Types 4), and either 50% (for eight or fewer
units) or 75% (for nine or more units) for Type 5 & 6. This limits the concession for other
s<strong>to</strong>rage devices <strong>to</strong> not more than 50% or 25% respectively.
4. Formatting <strong>of</strong> modifications <strong>to</strong> Sections 6.7 and 6.9 <strong>to</strong> reflect other changes and <strong>to</strong> improve
clarity <strong>to</strong> users <strong>of</strong> the document.
5. Examples added <strong>to</strong> clarify the meaning <strong>of</strong> control 6.7.2 (d).
Amendments <strong>to</strong> Chapter 7 – Development Adjacent <strong>to</strong> or over Existing Drainage Systems
It is proposed <strong>to</strong> add a section containing controls for the establishment <strong>of</strong> swimming pools and
spas adjacent <strong>to</strong> drainage systems. Some other minor amendments and additions are proposed <strong>to</strong>
improve clarity.
Amendments <strong>to</strong> Chapter 8 – Water Quality
Some additional information is proposed <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> included in order <strong>to</strong> improve cus<strong>to</strong>mers’
understanding <strong>of</strong> processes. It is proposed <strong>to</strong> delete the section detailing the requirements for the
environmental site management plan, as these are now detailed in the DA Guide. Some other minor
amendments are also proposed including <strong>to</strong> the formatting.
Amendments <strong>to</strong> Chapter 9 – Road and Trunk Drainage
Some minor amendments and additions are proposed <strong>to</strong> improve communication.
Amendments <strong>to</strong> Chapter 10 – Water Conservation
Following the introduction <strong>of</strong> BASIX, some controls relating <strong>to</strong> water conservation cannot now <strong>be</strong>
included. It is proposed <strong>to</strong> rename this chapter “On-site Wastewater Management” and <strong>to</strong> delete the
introduction on water conservation as well as the general water conservation requirements such as
rainwater tanks and ratings for fixtures.
Amendments <strong>to</strong> Appendices
Appendix 3 – It is proposed <strong>to</strong> remove “Flow 3” from the calculation sheet <strong>be</strong>cause this calculation
provides a higher permitted site discharge than is warranted. Line 5 has therefore also <strong>be</strong>en deleted
from the adopted DCP and necessary changes made accordingly.
Appendix 4 – It is proposed <strong>to</strong> amend the formatting <strong>to</strong> correct a printing error.
