Draft Management Plan <strong>2005</strong>-2009<br />

• An adopted program th<strong>at</strong> identifies improvements <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> all Council’s drainage system<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> meet the 1 in 20 year design s<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rms.<br />
• An adopted program th<strong>at</strong> re-uses s<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rmw<strong>at</strong>er and improves the quality <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> run<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>f <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
bushland.<br />
• Land and Envir<strong>on</strong>ment Court costs reduced <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> less than $1 milli<strong>on</strong> per annum.<br />
• A development assessment service th<strong>at</strong> is a <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>st practice model in terms <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
efficiency, c<strong>on</strong>sistency and reliability and has a median processing time <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 40 days<br />
for 70% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> all development applic<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
• Fully au<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>m<strong>at</strong>ed development assessment and certific<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> systems, using internet<br />
based applic<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> processes.<br />
• High quality development outcomes evident across Ku-ring-gai.<br />
• Improved public image and c<strong>on</strong>fidence in our regula<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ry and compliance services.<br />
• A new multi purpose community facility.<br />

• Develop five year rolling programs for roads and footp<strong>at</strong>hs th<strong>at</strong> targets 12 kilometres<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> road and 2.5 kilometres <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> new footp<strong>at</strong>h.<br />
• Develop five year programs for upgrading sportsfields, sporting facilities and<br />
playgrounds.<br />
• C<strong>on</strong>tinue <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> implement the program for road tre<strong>at</strong>ments adjacent <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> bushland which<br />
enhances the quality <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> w<strong>at</strong>er in<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the n<strong>at</strong>ural envir<strong>on</strong>ment.<br />
• C<strong>on</strong>tinue the program for replacement and improvements for Council buildings.<br />
• Develop a program for improvements for all c<strong>at</strong>chments in accordance with<br />
Council’s ranking criteria.<br />
• Ensure appeals are well managed and deemed refusal num<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs are minimised.<br />
