Objectives<br />

• Ku-ring-gai will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> a vibrant place while maintaining its unique character, n<strong>at</strong>ural<br />

envir<strong>on</strong>ment and heritage.<br />

• Housing, transport, open space and community facilities will meet the needs <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> a<br />

changing community while protecting heritage and the n<strong>at</strong>ural envir<strong>on</strong>ment.<br />

• Stakeholders including residents, community groups, government agencies and the<br />

development sec<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>r will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> actively engaged in the planning process.<br />

• Biocorridors are in place, green web integr<strong>at</strong>ed and tree canopy res<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>red <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> pre 1990<br />

levels.<br />

• Sustainability is integr<strong>at</strong>ed in<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> all planning and indica<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs are applied.(Council and<br />
