MS 1000ES Bathymetric
Single Beam Echo Sounder
Single or Dual Frequency Operation
The MS 1000ES has been designed to provide a
complete single beam bathymetric survey system
in one easy to operate equipment package. A
combination of dedicated hardware, a PC, and
operating software now allows the user to pre-plan
and execute survey line coverage, collect and record
bathymetric and sensor data, convert and edit data
files, and render the data using third-party surface
visualization software. All sensor data input into the
MS 1000 ES program is time-tagged recorded with
the Echo Sounder profiles. Post processing allows
the user (if desired) to change the profile extraction
threshold yet maintain the original sensor data sets.
The MS 1000ES “Trackplotter” module provides the user
with the capability to plot survey lines, vessel position and
line coverage, and provides a helm display with
a left/right indicator with a graphic and
numeric readout of distance
from line.
Bathy XYZ data displayed by “Surfer.”
Supplied with
the MS 1000
ES software is
BathyXYZ—a
“stand-alone”
program that
converts the MS
1000ES data into
sensor-corrected XYZ files
in .DAT, .CSV, .TXT file formats.
This program also allows point or
select block size editing features, contains a
“spike” filter, and offers the option of smoothing
position data using a 3-point running average filter.
