Whilst Kinnarps was founded on manufacturing
office furniture, our business has evolved to offer a
comprehensive range of furniture solutions for all types
of workplace.
Modern learning environments have embraced many
ideas from the business sector and now look to create
durable, dynamic spaces; many diversifying into full
community resources, catering for a wide range of ages,
cultures and activities.
These changes have brought the needs of busines and
education closer together. Places of work - be it study,
business or welfare - have a commonality in that they
need to function effectively, inspire the people who

We take a holistic view regarding the design of furniture,
seeking to enhance the health and well-being of users -

We also believe that our products must be produced
in the most environmentally friendly manner. As a result
we have international recognition of our leading position
in the production of sustainable solutions and this is
underpinned by our rigorous EMAS certification process.
Kinnarps believe in providing personal support
throughout the entire evolution of a project using our
own directly employed and trained staff. Therefore our
in-house designers and project managers will develop
the furniture scheme working in close collaboration with
the building project team and client as required. The
project will be delivered and installed using our own
fitting teams.

The state of the art education and recreation centre is the first of its
kind in the borough and set out to break new ground in design.

Ardingly College is an independent coeducational
boarding and day school
for boys and girls aged 2½ –18, in West
Sussex. “With rising parental expectations
we felt it was high time that classroom
furniture was brought up to a standard
comparable to the quality expected of
our teaching standards.” As part of the
package Kinnarps created a showroom
area for staff and pupils to assess a range
of furniture options. Products chosen
provided a practical solution, genuinely
satisfying user needs. “We were looking
for an essential combination of quality,
aesthetics, value and service and Kinnarps
delivered it all.”
In creating a totally inclusive learning environment that motivates
students to achieve their full potential, Haringey Sixth Form Centre
selected Kinnarps furniture as an important element in the overall
scheme. Kinnarps worked closely with the college’s staff, architects
and main contractor.
The furniture selected is highly adaptable and hard wearing, with
ergonomic adjustment to allow for regular changes in users. It also
creates a ‘commercial’ ambience appropriate to community usage
such as adult education and leisure usage. Products used include
Series[e] desking and storage, Edux training tables to allow for easy
reconfiguration.
“Once we saw the possibilities presented by the Kinnarps range
we knew that this was the furniture for our building, our staff and
students. The staff at Kinnarps we responsive to our budget and
out programme, and helped us achieve a long wearing solution.
After the initial fit out no subsequent smaller order was treated with
less importance. Especially helpful are the on-site delivery staff and
assemblers.”

Horizon Primary School in Kent has
been created from the amalgamation of
Birchwood and White Oak schools and
head teacher Colin Heatley was keen that
the new school should have a high impact
on its opening. This was to be achieved
through a combination of re-decorating
and new furniture. From the first contact,
the Kinnarps design team developed an
understanding of the school’s needs and
expectations, “The furniture needed to be
flexible, of high quality and have a ‘wow’
factor,” Mr Heatley explained. “We settled
on Kinnarps because it gave us all three.
Lampton School is a mixed, multicultural
community school with around
1350 students. A new extension to the
school was originally planned to house
two standard classrooms on the first
floor with a conventional ICT suite on
the ground floor. Funding for the project,
however, included a proviso that the new
facility should provide services to the local
community as well as to the school’s
students. “Having spoken to a number of
companies we opted for Kinnarps because
they have a lot of experience of public
buildings, have OGC accreditation and,
perhaps most importantly, demonstrated
a good understanding of what we were
trying to achieve.”
