Shan New Year 2106<br />
Observed in Loi <strong>Tai</strong> Leng<br />
Shan New Year 2106 celebration was<br />
held by RCSS/SSA on 25-26 November,<br />
2011 in Loi <strong>Tai</strong> Leng Headquarters, Shan<br />
State where monks, high-ranking officers<br />
of RCSS/SSA, ethnic representative,<br />
guests at home and abroad, local people,<br />
SSA fighters and students attended.<br />
Zit, RCSS Secretary (1) Col. Siri, Chief<br />
of staff of KNPP/KA Brig. Gen Aung<br />
Myat and Ta Maha of WNO delivered the<br />
speeches on the occasion of Shan New<br />
Year 2106.<br />
The felicitation messages from PNLO,<br />
CNF and SSPP/SSA were read out at the<br />
ceremony.<br />
The traditional dances, Shan troupe and<br />
modern Shan music were performed and<br />
the funfairs were held at two-day celebration<br />
too.<br />
Likewise, RCSS/SSA Military Region (1)<br />
and (6) also celebrated Shan New Year<br />
2106 at respective locations too.<br />
At midnight of 25 November, Senior<br />
leaders of RCSS/SSA led the audiences<br />
welcoming Shan New Year 2106 by firing<br />
the fireworks, dancing and singing.<br />

The 2nd Shan National Students’ Sport<br />
and Literature Contest held in Loi <strong>Tai</strong><br />
Leng from 11 December to 20 December,<br />
2011 in which Shan National<br />
Students from all Military Regions of<br />
RCSS/SSA participated.<br />
At the closing ceremony on 20 December,<br />
the encouraging speech was made<br />
by RCSS Vice Chairman (1) Maj. Gen<br />
Sai Yi. After that RCSS Vice Chairman<br />
Col. Khur Ngern and teacher Sai<br />
Kawn Wan spoke words of thank to<br />
all. The concerned persons presented<br />
the prizes, the metals and the winning<br />
RCSS/SSA and ethnic leaders attanding the celebration<br />
certificates to the winners.<br />
