However, most of <strong>the</strong> recalls that Iverson presents,<br />
unusual in <strong>the</strong>ir wealth of detail <strong>and</strong> inclusion of<br />
persons known to historians, are from a single<br />
subject, Jane Evans. It has now been shown convincingly<br />
(see Ian Wilson: Reincarnation? Penguin<br />
Books, 1982. Special Postscript) that three of Jane<br />
Evans' recalls are based on certain historical novels,<br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> one about <strong>the</strong> massacre of Jews may well be<br />
similarly derived. Such material can quite unconsciously<br />
be built up into a fantasy life. Hypnotic<br />
regression experiments must be designed with<br />
great care <strong>and</strong> awareness of pitfalls to be of any<br />
value.
