Minors are not included as part of the student's official degree program until all requirements for the minor have been fulfilled and certified by the department granting the minor. Thus, the program imparts knowledge, tools, skills and attitudes that create productive employees and managerial leaders. MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW Kettering University's undergraduate Management Program has a dual focus: to provide students with entry-level business knowledge and skills; and to enable students to be successful in on-the-job assignments through comprehensive studies in business disciplines. The curriculum provides a state-of-the-art approach to business problem solving, with an emphasis on computer capability. Presently, five concentrations are offered in the business area: Accounting/Finance, General Business, Information Systems, Manufacturing Management, and Marketing, each leading to a Bachelor of Science in Management degree. The curriculum allows for students outside the business program to earn a management minor. This minor provides students with a strong base in the functional areas of business. It is also a prerequisite for the Engineering Management Master of Science Degree Program offered at Kettering University and in many cases serves as prerequisites for traditional MBA programs. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The Management Program Faculty have established the following Program Educational Objectives. • Students graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management will have a broad knowledge and understanding of business fundamentals so that they are academically prepared for a business career; compare favorably when evaluated on a national norm, and as alumni, are successful in advanced studies, other professional fields, or in advancing themselves within an organization. • Graduating undergraduate students will have the positive perspectives and skills that create productive employees and managerial leaders. • The undergraduate Management Program Faculty will demonstrate teaching effectiveness by using appropriate educational and learning techniques in the classroom. MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM In the Bachelor of Science Management Degree curriculum, all concentrations have the same course requirements for the first five semesters.
