MISSION STATEMENT
To represent Kettering University with enthusiasm and integrity in securing Alumni support of University initiatives.
The Kettering/GMI Alumni Association is a world-wide organization of over 30,000 graduates. Governed by a 28-member elected Board of
Directors, the association sponsors services and programs for alumni as well as for students and faculty.
Programs include class reunions and the annual Alumni Weekend, a network of alumni clubs throughout the U.S. and around the world. In
addition, the Association annually sponsors the Distinguished Alumnus Scholarship. Alumni keep in touch with the University through the
Kettering Alumni News, and a Home Page on the Internet www.kettering.edu/alumni/.
Also, each year at Alumni Day, alumni may be recognized for their professional accomplishments with the following awards:
• Engineering Achievement • Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna
• Management Achievement • Alumni Service
• Civic Achievement • Entrepreneurial Achievement
• Outstanding Achievement • Human Relations
• Special Recognition • Young Alumni Achievement
In recent years, the Association has established a network of Class Agents and Class Secretaries to serve as liaisons between Kettering and
each graduating class. A network of alumni has been created to assist the University in student recruitment, coop employer recruitment, and
fund raising.
In addition, the Association supports the Kettering Endowment Fund. Alumni contributions support student scholarships, fellowships and
grants, the Richard P. Scharchburg Archives, faculty enrichment programs, laboratories and equipment additions, library investments, and
facilities improvements.
The Kettering Student Alumni Council (SAC), a student organization sponsored by the Alumni Association, fosters interaction between
alumni and students through various activities such as the Visiting Alumnus/Alumna Speaker Program, Alumni Day, workshops, fund
raising, and tours.
Kettering alumni are recognized throughout the world for their accomplishments and leadership in business, industry, and other professions.
