There is a degree of freedom in selecting the courses for this requirement; however, approval of the student’s faculty advisor and Chemistry and Biochemistry Faculty are required. 2 Humanities and social science electives must be selected from approved 300 or 400 level series courses, including one humanities course and one social science course. 3 Biochemistry Senior Research/Seminar II can be elected for a maximum of six credits, a minimum of two credits. 5 Biochemistry majors are required to complete a minimum of 46 chemistry laboratory contact hours; equivalent to 460 cumulative hours spent in the lab.
