RESIDENT ASSISTANT: UNIVERSITY VILLAGE SUITES 3000 BLDG
WHAT DO YOU DO, AND WHERE DO YOU DO IT?
I’m a Resident Assistant in the University Village Suites 3000 building. I live and work on a
freshmen hall. Every day is different and a new challenge. I never know what they will ask me
next. It could range from advice on their future major to how they should handle a situation
with their roommates. I enjoy the spontaneity and the challenge that comes with it.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
My job gives me the opportunity to meet and learn from people from all walks of life. I
find that everyone I meet, whether they are residents or part of the department, has
something to offer. I can learn from them, gain a new outlook on life and put that new
knowledge into practice to impact my residents.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I’m a high school and middle school rowing coach, competitive rower, and slalom waterskier.
The water is where I feel most relaxed and at home, and so I try to be on the water as
much as possible. I also enjoy the challenge of designing and developing iPhone apps. I am
always thinking of new, innovative app ideas that I can design to create a product that people
will enjoy.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST
ABOUT KSU?
It’s a growing university. Right now, we get the
opportunity to be a part of it and have a voice in its
future. With a proposed football team and a larger
student base that is growing every year. This is very
exciting to me because it is bringing a new culture to
KSU. I can't wait for this to change the KSU culture.
