with regard to notification to victims of the<br />
results of such testing.<br />
• The right to counseling from any mental<br />
health services previously established by the<br />
institution or by other victim-service entities<br />
or by victims themselves.<br />
After campus sexual assaults have been<br />
reported, the victims of such crimes shall have<br />
the right to require that campus personnel<br />
take the necessary steps or actions reasonably<br />
feasible to prevent any unnecessary or<br />
unwanted contact or proximity with alleged<br />
assailants, including transfer of classes if<br />
requested by the victims.<br />
Sex Offenders<br />
Convicted sex offenders are required by<br />
law to register their names <strong>and</strong> addresses<br />
with the <strong>State</strong> of Georgia Department of<br />
Corrections. You may obtain state information<br />
on individuals registered as sex offenders by<br />
visiting the Georgia Bureau of Investigation<br />
Sex Offender Registry website at: http://gbi.<br />
georgia.gov/gergia-sex-offender-registry<br />
Missing Persons Policy<br />
Suspected missing students should promptly<br />
be reported to the KSU Department of<br />
Public <strong>Safe</strong>ty. A student is determined to be<br />
missing when the KSU Police has verified<br />
that reported information is credible <strong>and</strong><br />
circumstances warrant declaring the person<br />
is missing. Should the KSU police investigate<br />
<strong>and</strong> determine that a residential student is<br />
a missing person, the director of Residence<br />
Life or designee will be immediately notified<br />
to verify the appropriate missing person<br />
contact information. Contact will then be<br />
made to the missing person’s contact within<br />
24 hours of the determination that the student<br />
is missing by the Dean of Student Success or<br />
his designee. The KSU Police will provide the<br />
director of Residence Life or designee timely<br />
<strong>and</strong> continuous notification of the status of<br />
the investigation until the case is closed. KSU<br />
DPS will notify local law enforcement agencies<br />
within 24 hours after determining the student<br />
is missing.<br />
Students residing in campus housing will<br />
be informed annually that each student has<br />
the option to identify a person designated as<br />
a confidential missing person contact to be<br />
notified by <strong>Kennesaw</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> no<br />
later than 24 hours after the time the student<br />
is determined to be missing by the officials<br />
authorized to make that determination,<br />
