3. Be sure to preserve any evidence that may<br />

be necessary to prove the assault occurred.<br />

Do not shower/bathe,or douche,or change<br />

or launder any clothing worn during the<br />

assault until you are examined by a doctor.<br />

NOTE: In cases where a sexual assault<br />

victim has bathed, showered or otherwise<br />

compromised potential evidence, he/<br />

she should still report the assault; as such<br />

actions may not prevent prosecution or<br />

conduct proceedings from going forward.<br />

FOR VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT<br />

If you have been sexually assaulted <strong>and</strong> want<br />

counseling, follow-up medical care or mental<br />

health assistance, you may contact the KSU<br />

Counseling <strong>and</strong> Psychological Services at<br />

770-423-6600 <strong>and</strong> the KSU Health Clinic at<br />

770-423-6644.<br />

The Office of the Dean of Student Success can<br />

provide assistance to make changes in your<br />

academic living situation after an assault<br />

has occurred. To contact the Dean of Student<br />

Violence Prevention Center works to<br />

promote healthy relationships in the campus<br />

community <strong>and</strong> to improve KSU's coordinated<br />
