The Chapel is open each day as a place for prayer. Services in Chapel are open to all College members
and staff, their guests and friends. Our services are according to those of the Church of England, but all
are welcome to participate in our worship, regardless of tradition or denomination.

All evening services finish in time for dinner in Hall.

Morning Prayer at 8.15am followed by breakfast
Evening Prayer at 6.30pm (Monday and Friday)
Compline by Candlelight with Keble College Choral Scholars at 9.00pm (Thursday)
Holy Eucharist
Holy Eucharist at 6.30pm (Tuesday and Thursday)
Holy Eucharist is also celebrated on all major Holy Days as indicated each week on the Chapel notice board.

SPECIAL SERVICES
St Mark’s Day, Sunday 21 April, 5.30pm
This Evensong commemorates the foundation of the College and her benefactors and is the 137 th anniversary of
the opening of the Chapel. A festive dinner in Hall follows the service.
Evensong in Eastleach, Wednesday 1 May, 6.30pm
The choir will travel to St Andrew’s, Eastleach to offer a service of Evensong. This is one of the parish
churches where John Keble served as a curate shortly after his ordination in 1815 and they graciously offer
their hospitality to Keble College Chapel Choir every year.
Ascension Day, Thursday 9 May, 8.15am and 6.00pm
This important day of the Christian year commemorates the risen Christ’s ascension into heaven and begins
our preparations to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The choir will sing Morning Prayer from
the roof of the Chapel at 8.15am (Keble’s own version of
‘May Day’). A sung Eucharist will also be offered in
the Chapel at 6.00pm that evening.
The Feast of Corpus Christi, Thursday 30 May, 5.45pm with Oriel College
Join us in Keble Chapel as Keble College Chapel Choir and Oriel Chapel Choir offer a joint service to
celebrate Corpus Christi and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Dinner will follow the service. All are welcome!

Keble College Chapel Choir will sing Evensong in Liddon Quad. All are welcome!
Leavers’ Service, Sunday 9 June, 5.30pm
This is the final Sunday service in the Chapel for the academic year. Following dinner, the Chapel will host a
party to offer our thanks and blessings to all Leavers this year.

SUNDAYS
Sung Eucharist (except where stated otherwise)
Each Sunday the College community gathers to celebrate the presence of
Christ in Word and Sacrament. We hear readings from Scripture and a
sermon and receive communion. Keble College Chapel Choir sings the
setting of the service and an anthem; the congregation joins in hymns and
the psalm. All are welcome. Refreshments are available after the service.
