nscale Server is at the heart of nscale. As the central service, it provides all necessary services surrounding a
document, regardless of platform – from digital entry, administration and workflow to high-performance
records management and archiving in accordance with audit requirements. The high scalability of
nscale Server guarantees optimum availability and response times, even when data traffic loads are high.
STRUCTURIng AnD MAnAgIng
The basic functions of nscale Server are split into two. nscale Server Application layer takes care of the business
processes as well as the structuring and management of the entire content. In doing this, it is capable of operating
several clients (independent configurations) at the same time.

Its counterpart, nscale Server Storage layer, is responsible for the actual archiving in accordance with audit

in order to fulfill the unique requirements of any single user. nscale Desktop is the standard MS-Windows client
to access the nscale Server. The new nscale Cockpit client is a consequent advancement of prior versions and
sets standards in terms of usability. To access your data and information remotely, the nscale WebClient and
of course nscale Mobile (for iPhone/iPad) are available.
SPACE FOR COMMUnICATIOn
E-mail solutions with nscale create space in your inbox and conserve information in a logically structured way.
To create this space, all e-mails and attachments are stored in accordance with audit requirements and are
managed in a way that complies with legal requirements. Before they are archived, all e-mails and their attachments
can be checked for duplicates as it saves space when only one copy is stored (Single Instance Storage).
This makes overfilled inboxes a thing of the past. All content sent by e-mail is made accessible to the entire ECM
system and thus can be integrated into individual work processes.
nSCAlE FOR MICROSOFT ® ExChAngE
This special Exchange solution allows you to relocate attachments or entire e-mails to nscale Server. This drastically
reduces the volume of e-mails normally stored on the Microsoft Exchange Servers. This does not make
the usual tasks any less convenient as every archived e-mail can be completely restored from the archive within
seconds. This allows even users without network access to work with the original, although it has been archived.
you can even quite easily search for and quickly find archived e-mails and attachments years later. To this end,
you have the option of using nscale Fulltext Service.
nSCAlE FOR gROUPWISE
With this e-mail solution, Ceyoniq has added functions to novell groupWise which enables
the archiving of e-mails in a central document pool in accordance with audit requirements.
nscale stores the collaboration information in a structured way which makes it easy to search
through it. In this way, nscale for groupWise supports employees in organizing their digital
communication and helps companies to meet both business and legal requirements easily.
nSCAlE FOR lOTUS nOTES
E-mail archiving in accordance with audit requirements within lotus notes is particularly convenient with
nscale. This is because user convenience and the ability to integrate the product into the existing IT landscape
are the primary considerations when archiving with notes. By using the inte-grated mail journaling, all
incoming and outgoing e-mails are archived directly and automatically through the mail router. This makes it
possible to model all your company‘s e-mail communication channels and archive them according to legal

nscale for File Systems and nscale for Microsoft SharePoint are solutions which
use Office and file archiving to contribute to a secure and convenient flow of information

This archiving solution reduces the load on the file servers by archiving files on a central and economical storage
backend. This markedly reduces the storage space requirements on the file servers. The files are not only stored
according to audit requirements; the fulltext service assists you in searching and finding archived objects as
well. Users not only enjoy transparent access to archived data, but also have the option of easily restoring original
documents locally – for example for offline use – any time they wish. Several parameters are available for
use with nscale for File Systems Administrator that allow you to select individually which files to archive and
when.

seamlessly integrated, permitting users to archive any type of document and document library managed by a
