Minutes of a special meeting of the Executive Committee of the <strong>Kativik</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Board</strong>,<br />
for the <strong>School</strong> year 1993-<strong>1994</strong>, held through a Conference call, from Dorval, Québec,<br />
on February <strong>25</strong>, <strong>1994</strong>.<br />

1 QUORUM AND OP<strong>EN</strong>ING OF THE MEETING<br />
With a quorum of the members of the Executive Committee of the <strong>Kativik</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong> <strong>Board</strong> being present at 10:30 on February <strong>25</strong>, <strong>1994</strong>, the meeting was<br />
declared open by the President of the <strong>Board</strong>, Mr. Adamie Inukpuk.<br />
2 NOTICE OF MEETING<br />
The President ascertained that all members of the Executive Committee have<br />
received notice of the meeting. The Commissioners waived written notice as<br />
well as any irregularity with respect to the convening of the meeting.<br />
3 CHAIRPERSON<br />
On motion duly made by Myva Niviaxie, it was unanimously resolved to adopt<br />
the following resolution number No 93/94-224.<br />
4 AG<strong>EN</strong>DA<br />
RESOLVED:<br />
THAT George Peters be and is hereby appointed as Chairperson of<br />
this meeting.<br />
On motion duly made by Adamie Inukpuk, it was unanimously resolved to adopt<br />
the following resolution No 93/94-2<strong>25</strong>.<br />
RESOLVED<br />
THAT the agenda of this meeting of the Executive Committee, copy<br />
of which is attached to the Minutes as Annex I, be and is hereby<br />
approved.<br />

5 CULTURE WORKING GROUP<br />
The culture working group meeting was scheduled to take place in Ivujivik but,<br />
Adamie and Sarah had decided to change the place due to a phone call<br />
Adamie had received from Aipili Kenuajuak. George Peters indicated that he<br />
would prefer not to change the place. Lukasi Ainalik also encouraged everyone<br />
involved to go to Ivujivik as planned. After further discussions it was decided<br />
that the culture working group will go to Ivujivik for its meeting as originally<br />
planned.<br />
6 PUVIRNITUQ AND IVUJIVIK<br />
The Ivujivik and Puvirnituq request for the Executive Committee to go to either<br />
community to hold discussions concerning the teacher training program was<br />
brought up by Adamie.<br />
The teacher training team of the <strong>Board</strong> has not even had a chance to study the<br />
mandate that was given to it by the Council of Commissioners at its last meeting<br />
to start to have meetings with the two communities. Therefore it was decided<br />
that once Doris and Mary have had a chance to meet with Gilbert concerning<br />
their mandate, the original plan to have the teacher training teams of Puvirnituq<br />
and Ivujivik and of the school board meet will be carried out.<br />
7 STUD<strong>EN</strong>T COUNSELLOR IN KUUJJUARAAPIK<br />
On motion duly made by Myva Niviaxie it was unanimously resolved to adopt the<br />
following resolution No 93/94-226.<br />
WHEREAS the Education Committee of Asimautaq <strong>School</strong> has<br />
recommended that Annie Ittoshat be hired for the position of<br />
Student Counsellor<br />
RESOLVED<br />
THAT Annie Ittoshat be and is hereby hired as Student Counsellor<br />
for Asimautaq <strong>School</strong> in Kuujjuaraapik.<br />
CLOSING OF THE MEETING<br />
The meeting closed at 12:17 all business being finished.<br />
