The DCV 8400 from Kathrein is a DOCSIS or
EuroDOCSIS 3.0 compatible eMTA. In HFC networks it
is intended for DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS data transmission
and for the provision of telephony services
(VoIP over Cable).
Equipped with dynamic 8-fold channel bonding, it
achieves data rates of up to 400 MBit/s downstream or
120 MBit/s upstream.
DCV 8400 automatically detects whether a DOCSIS or
EuroDOCSIS protocol exists. In this way the start-up
process is highly simple without manual tasks.
DCV 8400 enables cable network operators to offer
triple play services to the highest level: broadband
internet to 400 Mbps, video on demand in HD quality
and two telephone connections, thus offering a distinct
competitive advantage compared to DSL suppliers.
For operation itself the wide-ranging management
functions, telephony signalling options and the already
implemented IPv6 offer a future-safe platform for
appealing, up-to-date services.
DCV 8400 can be supplied in two versions (MGCP and
SIP).
The DCM 8400 from Kathrein is a DOCSIS and
EuroDOCSIS 3.0-compliant cable modem.
In HFC networks it is intended for DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS
data transmission.

of telephony services (VoIP over Cable).
Equipped with dynamic 8-fold channel bonding,
it achieves data rates of up to 400 MBit/s downstream
or 120 MBit/s upstream via 4-fold channel bonding.
Various bandwidth profiles are supported so that the
existing bandwidth can be optimally used.
The DCG 8400 automatically detects whether a DOCSIS
or EuroDOCSIS protocol exists. In this way the start-up
process is highly simple without manual tasks.
In the WLAN area, thanks to MIMO up to 300 Mbps
can be achieved, enabling the familiar broadband
applications to be used in the wireless segment as
well.
