Adult Education and Literacy<br />

Program<br />

The <strong>Kaskaskia</strong> College Adult Education and<br />

Literacy Program offers help to students in<br />

the areas of GED® review, Adult Basic<br />

Education, life skills, parenting skills, job<br />

seeking skills, workforce preparation,<br />

English as a Second Language, and<br />

transition into post secondary education<br />

and/or employment. Family Literacy<br />

Programs are also offered. Classes and<br />

one-on-one tutoring services are available<br />

on campus, at education center sites and<br />

many off-campus locations. The services<br />

provided are grant funded, so there is no<br />

cost for students who qualify to participate.<br />

Volunteers are currently needed to help<br />

adults improve reading, writing and math<br />

skills.<br />

Qualified students may be eligible for a<br />

scholarship for up to 48 credit hours of<br />

LIBRARY<br />

The <strong>Kaskaskia</strong> College Library provides<br />

access to resources and services to<br />

support the educational goals of students,<br />

faculty, and residents of District 501.<br />

Library resources include books,<br />

periodicals, newspapers, full-text electronic<br />

databases and Internet workstations.<br />

Several electronic databases are also<br />

available to students and faculty from the<br />

Library’s web page at<br />

http://www.kaskaskia.edu/library.<br />

The Library services include one-on-one<br />

assistance, workshops on finding<br />

information using a variety of tools and<br />

interlibrary loan. For more information,<br />
