KASKASKIA COLLEGE REGISTRATION SPRING 2013 WELCOME to Kaskaskia College and the Spring Class Schedule for 2013. WHETHER you are a new, continuing, or returning student Kaskaskia College has the courses that will help you reach the next level. KASKASKIA COLLEGE has quality faculty, staff, and programs to meet your needs. KC provides transfer programs to prepare you to transfer to four-year colleges or universities. KC also provides one-year certificates or two-year career and technical degrees that will provide you with the skills you need for either your current or brand new career. IN ADDITION to a great faculty, KC provides exceptional student services to assist in your educational success. The Enrollment Center will assist you with admissions, financial aid and academic advising. The Success Center provides tutoring, classroom skills and job exploration. CORE VALUES RESPECT ● HONESTY ● FAIRNESS RESPONSIBILITY ● COMPASSION New & Returning Student Enrollment Process These steps will provide successful enrollment for all new, continuing, and returning students. 1. All new students, including dual credit students, and students who have been inactive for one year or more should complete the online Student Admissions Form online at www.apps.kaskaskia.edu. 2. Both prospective and returning students may go to www.kaskaskia.edu/FinancialAid for eligibility requirements and information on grants, scholarships, student loans, work-study, and veteran’s benefits. 3. All students are required to submit placement test scores prior to enrolling in an English or math course. The accepted placement scores are the ACT or the COMPASS test. These tests provide information about a student’s readiness for college level work. To arrange a time to take the COMPASS Test, students should call the Success Center at 618.545.3160. 4. Academic advisors are available to discuss test placement scores, to develop education plans, and ensure courses taken are based on degree/certificate requirements. For more information regarding speaking with an advisor, please call 618.545.3060. 5. A registration period is scheduled prior to each semester. Specific dates and times of registration are included in the schedule of classes printed each enrollment period, or can be found on the Registration Calendar at http://www.kaskaskia.edu/AboutKC/ RegistrationCal.aspx. 6. Your tuition and fees are calculated at the time of registration. Be sure to review your statement or check your account summary on line at http://campusnet.kaskaskia.edu. 7. New Student Orientation (NSO) is a program designed to assist new students and family members to Kaskaskia College. Students who attend the New Student Orientation program perform better in college than students who do not. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to participate in the activity.
