PANČEVO - EVROPSKI KARNEVALSKI GRAD 

Tamo gde se Tamiš uliva u Dunav, na obali gde se čuju tambure, 

na vratima Banata, stasalo je Pančevo, prestonica pivarstva, 

starih zanata, centar moćne industrije, grad sa dugogodišnjom 

tradicijom i kulturom – grad karnevala. 

Internacionalni Pančevački karneval je najznačajnija 

međunarodna karnevalska manifestaciju u Srbiji, 

pod pokroviteljstvom Narodne kancelarije predsednika 

Republike Srbije, Izvršnog veća AP Vojvodine i Grada Pančeva. 

Pančevo ima tradiciju karnevala koja datira iz 19.veka. 

Danas je Pančevački karneval, koji je u organizaciji 

asocijacije ‘’Prijatelji Pančeva’’ od 2004.godine, postao najvažniji 

događaj u gradu i najveća međunarodna karnevalska 

manifestacija u Srbiji na kojem prisustvuje veliki broj posetilaca, 

učesnika, ambasadora i visokih zvaničnika iz zemlje 

i inostranstva. Pančevački karneval je spoj različitih 

karnevalskih tradicija i kultura iz celog sveta, čiji je sastavni 

deo međunarodna saradnja i 

razmena. 

Pančevo se nalazi na 

karnevalskoj mapi sveta sa 

ovom značajnom evropskom 

manifestacijom koja je perjanica 

karnevala u Srbiji,kao prvi član 

iz Srbije - Federacije evropskih 

karnevalskih gradova (FECC) 

od 2004. godine i Evropski 

karnevalski grad

PANCEVO - EUROPEAN CARNIVAL CITY 

At the point where the Tamis river flows into 

the Danube, on the coast where they hear the 

tamburitza music, the gate of Banat, Pancevo 

had grown – the capital of beer making, old crafts, 

powerful center of industry, the city with a long 

tradition and culture - the carnival city. 

International Pancevo Carnival is the most 

important international carnival event in Serbia 

under supported of People’s Office of President 

of the Republic of Serbia, the Executive Council 

of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the 

City of Pancevo. 

Pancevo has a carnival tradition which dates 

from the 19th century. Today Pancevo Carnival, 

organized by the Association of 

‘’Friends of Pancevo’’ since 2004, 

became the most important event 

in the city and the largest international 

carnival event in Serbia to attend 

the large number of visitors, 

participants, ambassadors and 

senior officials from the country 

and aboard. Pancevo’s Carnival 

is a combination of different carnival 

traditions and cultures from around 

the world, which is an integral part 

of international cooperation and 

exchange. 

Pancevo is on the world carnival 

map with this important European 

event, as a leading carnival city in 

Serbia and also as the first member 

from Serbia of Federation of 

European Carnival Cities (FECC) 

since 2004 and European 

carnival city.

OTVARANJE KARNEVALSKIH SVEČANOSTI 

U trećoj nedelji juna, Pančevo 

otvara vrata grada za Internacionalni 

pančevački karneval. Otvaranje 

karnevalskih svečanosti u Pančevu 

počinje kada gradonačelnik Pančeva 

tradicionalno predaje vlast i ključeve 

grada maestru karnevala, što 

simbolično označava da gradom tih 

dana vladaju karnevalisti. 

Sve se pretvara u veliki karnevalski 

podijum i ceo grad živi pod maskama. 

Počinju dani ludovanja i svako ko poseti 

Pančevo u vreme karnevala zabavlja 

se uz atraktivan i bogat program, šou 

performanse karnevalskih grupa i 

muzičke koncerte.

THE OPENING CARNIVAL CEREMONY 

Each year in the third week of June, Pancevo opens the city gate for the International 

Pancevo Carnival. Opening of carnival ceremony begins when the Mayor hands over the 

City Key to Maestro of carnival who taken the authority which has symbolic meaning - 

that on those days carnivalists rule the city. 

Everything transforms on the 

grand carnival stage and the whole 

city lives masqueraded. In this 

crazy time, whoever has visited 

Pancevo during the Carnival has fun 

followed by the attractive and rich 

programme. 

Opening ceremony includes a 

performance show that extracts 

carnival groups with witty coments 

by the merry presenters and music 

concerts.

MEĐUNARODNA KARNEVALSKA POVORKA 

VELIKA MEĐUNARODNA KARNEVALSKA PARADA 

Kulminacija događaja je velika međunarodna 

karnevalska parada koja prolazi kroz centar Pančeva 

sa preko 100.000 posetilaca. 

Oko 3.000 učesnika iz blizu 15 zemalja, 

mažoretkinje, bras orkestri i karnevalske grupe 

vladaju srcem grada nekoliko sati u velikoj 

međunarodnoj povorci Pančevačkog karnevala. 

Muzika i ples su sastavni deo karnevalskih grupa. 

Karneval nije samo maskiranje - to je proslava života. 

Doživeti karneval u Pančevu je iskustvo koje se 

nisačim ne može uporediti, naboj pozitivne energije i 

radosti.

THE INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PARADE 

THE GRAND INTERNATIONAL 

CARNIVAL PARADE 

Culmination of the event is the Grand 

International Carnival Parade, which goes 

through the center of Pancevo, with over 

100.000 visitors. 

Approximately 3.000 participants 

from over 15 countries, with majorettes, 

brass-band and carnival groups, which 

rule the heart of the city for a few hours 

on the grand carnival parade in Pancevo. 

Music and dance always accompany 

the carnival groups. Carnival isn’t only a 

disguise worn on the face and body - it is 

a celebration of life. 



DEČIJI KARNEVAL 

Kada hiljade maskirane dece prođe 

Pančevom, to je tada najsrećniji grad na svetu. 

U okviru dečijeg karnevalskog programa 

održava se muzički, zabavni program, 

predstave za decu. 

Tradicionalno, međunarodnu povorku 

pančevačkog karnevala predvodi preko hiljadu 

dece uz veliko angažovanje škola, nastavnika, 

dečijih ustanova, organizacija i roditelja. 

Deca su perjanica Pančevačkog karnevala, 

izražavaju kreativnost, maštu, trud i ljubav, 

i čuvaju duh tradicije karnevala. 




THE CHILDREN’S CARNIVAL 


When thousands of masked children pass 

through Pancevo, then it is the happiest city 

in the world. Children’s carnival program 

including music, dance, entertainment, shows 

and children’s party. Traditionally, 

International Pancevo Carnival procession 

led by over a thousand children with large 

involvement of schools, teachers, 

children’s institutions, organizations 

and parents. 

Children are the leaders of Pancevo 

Carnival, express creativity, imagination, effort 

and love and keep the spirit of the carnival 

tradition. 


KARNEVAL U SRCU GRADA 

Pančevački karneval je najprestižniji ulični 

događaj. U kafeima i ispred njih sve se 

pretvara u veliku karnevalsku pozornicu. 

To je najveći ulični teatar sa bogatim pratećim 

programom: spektakularni vatromet, koncerti, 

karnevalski i DJ party, performansi na štulama, 

samba plesačice i maskirana zabava na 

ulicama grada do jutarnjih časova. 

Međunarodni karneval u Pančevu emituje 

se u direktnom TV i internet prenosu. 

Pančevački karneval je poseban događaj jer 

se priprema s ljubavlju i živi punim srcem. 


CARNIVAL IN THE HEART 

OF THE CITY 

Carnival of Pancevo is the most prestigious 

street event. In cafes and in front of them 

everything transforms on the grand carnival 

stage. It is the largest street theater with rich 

following program:spectacular fireworks, 

concerts, carnival and DJ party, performance 

on stilts, samba dancers and fancy-dress 

parties on different locations including the 

city streets until early morning hours. The 

International Carnival of Pancevo is directly 

broadcasted on TV and on the Internet. 

Pancevo’s heart truly beats for the Carnival.
