Application Procedure<br />
A nonrefundable $80 USD <strong>application</strong> fee must be submitted with your <strong>application</strong>. Your <strong>application</strong> will not be<br />
processed until this fee has been received by the Office of Admissions.<br />

If applying to the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design, your <strong>application</strong> documents must be received by<br />
February 1 (fall semester entry only). You are required to provide evidence of English proficiency prior to this deadline<br />
to be considered <strong>for</strong> <strong>admission</strong> to this program. Interior design in the College of Human Ecology and Wildlife and<br />
Outdoor Enterprise Management in the College of Agriculture also require English proficiency <strong>for</strong> <strong>admission</strong> to these<br />
programs and have a priority deadline of February 1 (fall semester entry only).<br />
Selection Criteria<br />
International students are admitted according to standards established <strong>for</strong> each country. In general, freshman (firstyear)<br />
applicants shall have completed secondary school and have achieved at least a 2.5 grade point average on a<br />
4.0 scale. In general, students with transfer credit shall have achieved at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0<br />
scale. Some academic programs require higher grade point averages.<br />
Academic documentation must be official and issued directly from the institution. Applicants shall provide complete<br />
documentation of all transcripts, including grades or mark sheets, and copies of certificates, diplomas, or degrees<br />
earned. For credentials not originally issued in English, certified English translations must be provided. If you do not<br />
provide documentation <strong>for</strong> your complete academic record, your offer of <strong>admission</strong> may be denied or revoked.<br />
Transfer Credit<br />
K-State strongly encourages applicants to submit an academic evaluation report from a credential service. The<br />
service must be a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). For a list of<br />
current members, please visit: http://www.naces.org/members.htm If the transcript you provide does not have<br />
credit hours listed <strong>for</strong> each course, you are required to submit a credential evaluation in order to receive transfer credit.<br />
Affidavit of Financial Support<br />
Students requesting an F-1 or J-1 visa must provide an affidavit of financial support stating that you or a sponsor is<br />
able to provide enough money <strong>for</strong> one year of study at K-State. The affidavit <strong>for</strong>m is included at the end of this<br />
<strong>application</strong>.<br />
International Readmits<br />
If you have previously attended K-State and have not attended <strong>for</strong> at least one semester (not counting the summer<br />
semester), you must apply <strong>for</strong> re<strong>admission</strong>. Please complete and submit the <strong>application</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>international</strong><br />
<strong>undergraduate</strong> <strong>admission</strong> and the affidavit of financial support. You must also submit any and all transfer work you<br />
completed between the time you attended K-State and now. You do not need to repay the <strong>application</strong> fee.<br />
If you were dismissed from K-State, you must also apply <strong>for</strong> reinstatement. Contact the dean’s office of the college<br />
you wish to enter <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation.

English Language Proficiency Documentation<br />
You can be conditionally admitted without proof of English proficiency. However, upon arrival you will be required to<br />
take the English proficiency test (EPT). The results of the English proficiency test will determine if you will study<br />
English, either full-time or part-time, or if you are ready to begin full-time university courses. This is to ensure that you<br />
have the necessary English skills to be successful during your time at K-State.<br />
You will not have to take the English proficiency test upon arrival if you have achieved one of the following:<br />
TOEFL (iBT only): composite score of 79 or higher<br />
IELTS: composite score of 6.5 or higher<br />
Step Eiken: Pre-Level 1<br />
ACT: 23 or above on English part score<br />
SAT: 530 or above on critical reading/verbal part score<br />
24 or more transfer credits at an accredited U.S. institution and completed English Composition<br />
I and II with grades of C or better<br />
Attended high school in the United States <strong>for</strong> four years and completed four years of English<br />
with grades of C or better<br />
Documentation of English proficiency must be submitted to the Office of Admissions be<strong>for</strong>e the first day of classes of<br />
your first semester. All testing and coursework must have been completed within the last two years. The ETS<br />
institutional code (TOEFL and SAT) <strong>for</strong> K-State is 6334.<br />

NOTE: You do not need to complete a separate <strong>application</strong> <strong>for</strong> the English Language Program if you are applying to a<br />

Health Insurance<br />
K-State requires all <strong>international</strong> students and strongly recommends all dependents be covered by health insurance.<br />
If insurance is not supplied by a sponsor or agency, upon enrollment <strong>for</strong> courses, health insurance will be<br />
automatically billed to your student account. Health insurance must be maintained during your entire stay at<br />

AFFIDAVIT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS<br />
Applicants shall provide credible documentation of financial support <strong>for</strong> the first year of study be<strong>for</strong>e an I-20<br />
or DS-2019 will be issued. Documentation shall be less than 12 months old and must indicate the type of<br />
currency. All financial documentation shall be equal or greater than the estimated minimum yearly cost.<br />
English translation of names of account holders and amounts is necessary. This document shall be notarized<br />
to ensure authenticity. Acceptable documentation includes:<br />
Bank statement from checking, savings, stock holdings, and/or certificate of deposit<br />
Bank letter, on letterhead, stating the date the account opened, average balance, and current balance<br />
Scholarship or sponsorship letter verifying amount, source, dates of award, and acceptable program<br />
of study<br />
COST OF ATTENDANCE<br />
Expenses <strong>for</strong> <strong>international</strong> <strong>undergraduate</strong> students <strong>for</strong> two semesters of study at Kansas State University<br />
are estimated below. The figures are estimated costs, subject to change, and are updated annually based<br />
on cost of living and tuition increases. Expenses are provided <strong>for</strong> the purpose of this affidavit and will be<br />
shown on the I-20 or DS-2019 <strong>for</strong>m. Tuition and fees are estimated using 12 credit hours per semester.<br />
The sponsor must demonstrate the appropriate total expenses, including any dependent expenses, are<br />
available <strong>for</strong> the student. Estimated living expenses <strong>for</strong> dependents are $7,000 per year <strong>for</strong> each of the<br />
first two and $3,300 per year <strong>for</strong> each additional dependent.<br />
