DESCRIPTION: 48'x65 1 ; 3-story structure, flat ro<strong>of</strong>, stucco over lapped siding<br />

construction; decorative b<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> fluting; concrete foundation.<br />

SIGNIFICANCE: Edward Decker arrived in Juneau in 1882 <strong>and</strong> opened a general<br />

merch<strong>and</strong>ise store on the site in 1887. The original building was razed in<br />

1908, rebuilt <strong>and</strong> razed again in 1935. Decker's widow built the present<br />

structure on the site.<br />

3, 1913. L. V. Ray <strong>of</strong> Seward was President <strong>of</strong> the Senate <strong>and</strong> Earnest B.<br />

Collins <strong>of</strong> Fox was Speaker <strong>of</strong> the House.<br />
