To achieve a unified look, use
the following visual cool tools as
part of your theme presentation.
■ Photography: Photos reinforce
the theme in a very real way.
Consistent photo placement or
arrangements add unity.
Techniques such as cut-out
backgrounds, duotones and
other Photoshop tricks may
create excitement. Color adds
impact and realism.
■ Typography: Unique fonts,
styles, sizes, alignment and
spacing set the theme
presentation apart.
■ Graphics: Lines, colors, tints,
shapes, textures and white space
are options to be incorporated
selectively into the design
of the theme package.

Detailed design
A carefully prepared theme
portfolio [left] resulted in a
meticulously designed final
product [above]. Using miniplanner
layout sheets, the staff
sketched each spread of the
theme packet and wrote detailed
specs for the typography and
graphics. A paste-up was also
prepared with images from
magazines. Finally, the final
design was created on the
computer.
