cast it all aside for the sake of the k<strong>in</strong>gdom. The day of sacrifice<br />

wasn’t over. We were limber<strong>in</strong>g up. There were signs of a<br />

golden age to come.<br />

Our strategy <strong>in</strong> 1992 was not only to regionalise but also to<br />

release the dynamic of the converted. Regular leadership<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g sessions were held at Cornhill and <strong>in</strong>cluded many<br />

potential ‘Timothies’. The apostle Paul had ‘fathered’ and apprenticed<br />

young Timothy. This k<strong>in</strong>d of spiritual mentor<strong>in</strong>g was<br />

grow<strong>in</strong>g amongst us and was really the hope of the future. All<br />

around we sensed the mood of a new generation look<strong>in</strong>g for<br />

challenge. The need for adventure, to take life on and to explore<br />

the limits was raw material for the Spirit of God. MEN<br />

WHO DARE! was a bold headl<strong>in</strong>e that summer <strong>in</strong> <strong>our</strong> <strong>Jesus</strong><br />

Revolution Streetpaper:<br />

Rugged, lively, new Christians! High profile, outfront! They belong<br />

to the revolutionary dynamic of the early church. They<br />

take up the torch of those who ‘turned the world upside down’.<br />

New Christians are c<strong>our</strong>ageous, dar<strong>in</strong>g! Dangerous to demons!<br />

They live to promote the gospel of <strong>Jesus</strong> Christ. Ready to give<br />

up jobs, sports, wealth, marriage. Sold out to the new Christian<br />

cause. These are men and women who dare! 126<br />

But the future of <strong>our</strong> own youth caused concern. Many Fellowship<br />

sons and daughters had been brought up <strong>in</strong> <strong>our</strong> most<br />

sober, discipl<strong>in</strong>ed era. Though we were more flexible nowadays,<br />

<strong>our</strong> children still faced a major crisis when they became<br />

teenagers. Many rebelled as they fought for their per-<br />
